AFK backs US envoy for Kurdish issues |
The United States should appoint a special envoy for Kurdish affairs to better coordinate its policies toward Kurdish populations in Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran, the Founder of US-based American Friends of Kurdistan (AFK), Diliman Abdulkader, wrote.

Turkey will NOT get the F-35 jets, despite what Barrack says.
As we’ve always said, it will be up to Congress and Congress is well aware of Turkey’s numerous violations both domestic and abroad.
Turkey is only an “ally” on paper, nothing more.
Don’t forget to invest in American Friends of Kurdistan so we’re able to continue our work in Washington.

Yep. Turkey has used its mosques in the U.S. to push its government’s agenda, including spying on its political rivals.

To better protect U.S. national security interests and advance an “America First” policy in the region, it is long overdue for President Donald Trump to appoint a special envoy for Kurdish affairs.

🚨 HOLD TURKEY ACCOUNTABLE FOR TERRORISM
Turkey is one of the largest supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East and Europe — with deep Islamist ties right here in America.
They helped ISIS and Al-Qaeda flood Syria — terrorists poured across their borders.
Now they’re the biggest backer of the new Jolani regime in Damascus.
They hide behind NATO status and their strong Erdogan-Trump relationship.
No more free pass.Time to end Turkey’s double game and crack down on their jihadist network.
@D_abdulkader: 🇺🇸America First means real accountability.

🚨 KURDISH VIEW: AMERICA’S IRAN SUCCESS
From the Kurdish front lines: Iran was the undisputed bully of the Middle East — proxies everywhere (Hezbollah, Houthis, Hashd al-Sha’bi, Assad’s Syria) gave it a direct highway to threaten Israel and strike U.S. bases.
Trump took out Soleimani in 2018.
This administration delivered the knockout: 60+ top leaders gone — including Khamenei.
Now Iran is cornered. Hezbollah cornered. Houthis silent.
The regional boogeyman has lost its foothold.Kurds are ready to engage for lasting security — we just need solid guarantees from the Trump administration.
Kurd are key U.S. allies in the Middle East. Kurds are pro-American, pro-Western, strong fighters, and have a great reputation with Congress for a reason—America can rely on them in a region where we don’t have many friends.
Don’t believe me? Ask a U.S. service member who served alongside the Kurds in Iraq and Syria.
Turkey is allies with ISIS, Al Qaeda, Hamas and every other radical Islamist terrorist group in the Middle East yet U.S. is trying to give them F-35 weapons. Why? Where’s the accountability for Erdogan and the Turks? They get a pass?
We invested trillions in Iraq including the loss of thousands of American lives yet they still take their orders from Tehran. Where’s the accountability here?
U.S. recognized Jolani in Syria, a known and wanted jihadist with a $10,000,000 bounty on his head because we wanted to make Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia happy—we betrayed the Kurds (as recently as January 2026), our loyal allies for over a decade in Syria.
In Iran, the Kurds are the only armed, organized and battle hardened minority group that can take on the Islamic regime. If U.S. decides tomorrow to go all in against the Iranian regime, we’re going to need the Kurds, again. Why? Because they’re our friends and we can rely on them. We can’t say the same about anyone else in the region.
Whoever is talking about the Kurds to the President wants the U.S.-Kurdish alliance destroyed, it’s clear.
I’m happy to provide you and your team with real and honest information on the Kurds.
Let’s do a honest break down what President Trump said on the Kurds:
▪️He said he’s “disappointed” in the Kurds.
If we’re being honest, Kurds were recently disappointed as of January of 2026 in the administration’s decision to legitimize Jolani in Syria. Jolani was a wanted jihadist with a $10,000,000 bounty by the U.S. on his head. But thanks to the actions of our ambassador to Turkey, Barrack, who advanced Turkey’s interest in Syria by not providing accurate information to the President, he was made President of Syria. We ultimately chose Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia over the Kurds who fought alongside our service members.
Kurds were not going to allow themselves to be betrayed again, especially two months after they were undermined and betrayed in Syria.
▪️He said Kurds “take take take.”
Kurds never take. When kurds receive anything from the U.S., it’s because U.S. needs them as a key ally in the region, for a battle, against an enemy, for an upcoming war, whatever it may be. Kurds also receive basic weapons as it is the U.S. long standing policy to not undermine the central government’s they reside in.
▪️“They have a great reputation in congress.”
They do, very true. Why? Because Congressional members visit and speak with the Kurds directly. They speak with the people and communities the Kurds have saved and sacrificed for, like ethnic and religious minorities. They saw first hand how it was the Kurds not Syria, Turkey, Iraq or Iran that protected U.S. service members during the Iraq war.
I don’t expect Congress to have a great view of Iraq, Iran, Syria or Turkey because they are not on our side. That’s the simple truth.
▪️“They fight hard when they get paid.”
Of course. Kurds don’t have a state, they need weapons if they need to fight ISIS, al Qaeda and all the other radical Islamists in the region. Paying them to cover the basics is part of the deal we have with them. Kurds in Syria and Iraq are often the first line of defense—they lost 15,000+ lives in the fight against ISIS.
Turkey helped ISIS directly yet were trying to give them F-35 jets. Why aren’t we holding Turkey to the same degree of accountability as we are to the stateless Kurds?
We lost thousands of Americans during the Iraq War, spent trillions to help Iraqis, invested with advanced weapons and institution building and so much more yet they still take orders from Tehran—where’s the accountability? Why are we picking on the Kurds who had our back in Iraq? Where zero American lives were lost during the war in the autonomous Kurdistan Region.
I believe President Trump is once again receiving false information on the Kurds just like he did during Trump 1.0 when Erdogan visited the White House and quickly after that the U.S. tried to withdraw from Syria in 2019, just like in January 2026 in Syria and again here with Iran.
Don’t forget, the Kurds are non-state actors. Treating them as if they have total sovereignty is unfair. These accusations against the Kurds, a key ally of the United States, puts the Kurds in a very dangerous position.
@realDonaldTrump@POTUS I’m happy to provide you and your time with honest information on the Kurds, because whoever is talking to you about the Kurds clearly hates the Kurds and wants to see the U.S.-Kurdish alliance totally destroyed.
🎙️ Iran’s Kurds Are Drawing a Line: Never Again
📍 *The Middle East Breakdown*
After losing up to 20,000 lives in past conflicts, Iran’s Kurds are choosing a different path—no overreach, no repeat of Syria. The strategy now is clear: protect Kurdish areas first, define demands, and hold the line.
In this clip, @DanFeferman & @hayvibouzo speak with @SuzanQuitaz and @D_abdulkader on how this shift isn’t just leadership-driven—it’s coming from the people themselves, inside Iran and across the diaspora, demanding accountability and refusing more empty sacrifices.
Simple strategy. Strong consensus.
