@LBC@KarlTurnerMP These guest hosts are dreadful. It’s a dreadful idea. They’re all as dull as dishwater. Just get Lewis Goodall or Ben Kentish as cover.
@GjMcGowan@livgorton Ok, thanks as ever. Frankly, I’d be more concerned about being driven around by a robot than the accent the robot adopted but, hey, I’m an old stick in the mud.
@BloodyPolitics Blimey. Just think how much harder the US will find this sort of thing if they’ve withdrawn all their forces from Europe and we, accordingly, have denied them basing and overflight rights. Good job, MAGA morons!
@TheAngry53586@meljomur You’re talking to me like I’m some ignorant MAGA twat! Trying to rank the contributions of each participant of a grand alliance in a vast conflict is pretty pointless imho - a pub game rather than serious historical analysis. As I said, all three allies played huge roles.
@TheAngry53586@meljomur I mention casualties simply as a rough illustration of the scale of the conflict. To be sure, the western allies gave major material support through the war but in terms of the actual destruction of German forces, I think it unavoidable that the eastern front was predominant.
@TheAngry53586@meljomur Well, whilst of course all 3 of the major allies made huge contributions to defeating Nazi Germany, it is fair to say that it was the Soviets who really ripped the heart out of the Wehrmacht. The casualty figures for the eastern front are a magnitude greater than in the West.
