The AFC core functions are promote welfare and improve public understanding of the welfare issues faced by Service personnel and relevant family members; to investigate and report on general service welfare matters; provide independent oversight of the Service Complaints system.
A general service welfare matter is any issue related to a service person’s ongoing service, which could significantly affect their wellbeing or the wellbeing of their family.
