🇸🇴 Nunca vi algo así. En Somalia hoy se llenó un estadio para recibir como héroe nacional a Omar Artan, el árbitro al que Estados Unidos le negó la entrada al Mundial. Increíble.
🚨 INCREDIBLE SCENES! 🤯
Thousands gather in Mogadishu, Somalia to receive Omar Artan. 🇸🇴
The referee who has been named “The Best in Africa” was denied entry to the United States to be in the World Cup. 🛂

The exclusion of Somali referee Omar Artan from the World Cup is deeply troubling. As a British journalist of African origin, I am angered not only by what happened to him, but by the cowardly silence of FIFA and CAF. If they will not defend an African official at a World Cup, what do their commitments to inclusion and equality really mean?
Omar Artan was set to make history for his country as the first referee from Somalia to officiate at a World Cup, but he was denied entry to the U.S. after arriving in Miami and cut from the tournament by FIFA. https://t.co/W5pA8RKUdy
As a World Cup host, the U.S. shouldn't be flippantly barring officials from entering the country to do their jobs.
It's terribly backward.
It's also counterproductive.
Global sports competitions should improve international exchange and relations, not the reverse.
Those recruited and financed to undermine Somalia’s security and stability have been decisively defeated by our security forces. Their plot collapsed before their eyes, and they were driven back from the very targets they sought to attack.
The Somali people now see clearly who stands against peace, stability, and national progress. Those who once hide behind false narratives and political slogans have exposed themselves through their actions.
As for those who funded this failed venture, their investment has yielded nothing but defeat. Having failed in their objectives, they are now left counting the cost of their miscalculation.
These images prove the opposition were all along planning to destabilize the city. The sheer stupidity of shedding crocodile tears & accusing FGS in preventing peaceful protest is very telling. The public isn’t so gullible to believe your cunning intent of wreaking havoc to peace
If there were any lingering doubts about the Tates being proxy influencers for Israel, just listen to this.
He is just regurgitating the standard UAE-Zionist talking points about how only UAE Abraham accord lovers are the "good Muslims" and everyone else is a terrorist.
US reaffirms Somali sovereignty in blow to Somaliland and Israel
State Department report "effectively closes the door on any lingering hopes of US recognition for Somaliland", which is recognised by Israel
It seems to be a difficult day for Somaliland’s recognition lobbyists. The report they hoped would signal a policy shift instead opens by reaffirming Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including Somaliland as part of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Political expectations are one thing. Official policy documents are another. Paragraph one remains undefeated. 👇

FOCUS. U.S. policy REMAINS aligned with the recognition of SOMALIA as a single sovereign state, including Somaliland. As a result, supporters of Somaliland’s quest for international recognition may regard this as a diplomatic setback.
SOMALILAND is a clan ambition and REFERENCE NOT a country.
A clan ambition, NOT a country. According to the longstanding U.S. policy toward Somalia, Washington continues to support Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity and does not recognize Somaliland as an independent state. After decades of lobbying, publicity campaigns, and repeated predictions of imminent recognition, separatists once again find themselves facing the same reality: no recognition, no change in U.S. policy, and no country. For many observers, it is a reminder that political ambition alone does not create a state, and that international legitimacy cannot be declared into existence.

Al-Shabaab Admits Turkish Airstrikes Have Significantly Impacted Its Fight Against the Somali Government
Al-Shabaab has acknowledged that Turkish airstrikes have had a major impact on its conflict with the Somali government. Al-Shabaab spokesperson Ali Dheere, speaking during an Eid event, accused Turkey of carrying out numerous aerial attacks in areas controlled by the group which resulted a heavy casualties.
Turkey is the second country after the United States to directly assist Somalia in combating terrorism. Turkish drones have reportedly been conducting regular strikes against Al-Shabaab positions.
At the same time, Turkey has significantly increased its support for the development of Somalia’s military by providing advanced training and modern equipment. If fully utilized, these efforts could play a major role in strengthening Somalia’s capacity to defeat terrorist groups.
