Why do some consumers pay more than their neighbors when shopping for the same products? Why are similarly situated delivery drivers working identical routes paid wildly varying amounts? To get answers, we launched a formal, compulsory market study into personalized pricing.
Today’s fact-finding mission will help the Commission understand whether and to what extent these industries rely on personalized pricing and to discern the best way to address a serious and growing public concern.
In fact, our economists estimate equipment prices would increase substantially each year, which is why the FTC under President Donald Trump and our state partners stepped in to preserve competition and protect communities and families from this unnecessary financial burden.
Competition on the playground can be fierce, and we intend for it to stay that way. Today the @FTC, joined by several states, sued to stop one of the biggest makers of jungle gyms, swing sets, and other outdoor equipment from absorbing a major rival.
PlayPower’s proposed acquisition of BCI Burke offers no clear benefit for the schools, churches, daycare centers, and parks that rely on these products to keep kids active and engaged.

.@SecRollins and I have heard the stories from farmers firsthand. The threatening calls from equipment dealers. The formal and informal terms that limit choice on everything from service to sales. Together with @FTC, we want to take action on your behalf. Share your story of improper behavior in the market for ag equipment at the link below. You can do so while remaining anonymous. It's time for free and fair markets to return for ag inputs.

Everyone is invited to weigh in. We especially want to hear from independent repair providers, farmers, or manufacturing industry insiders willing to describe their firsthand experiences or provide documents. The concerns of America’s farmers deserve to be heard.
America’s farmers have a hard enough job as it is. They shouldn’t have to overcome artificial service barriers to keep their farm machinery running, or pay inflated prices for critical equipment. And they shouldn’t suffer retaliation for fixing their own equipment, or shopping around for better prices.
The Trump Administration has our farmers’ backs. Today, @FTC and @USDA are opening a public inquiry into whether our farmers are subject to anticompetitive conduct in the manufacturing and distribution of agricultural equipment.

I really hope this isn’t true. The Senator Blackburn I know and saw in action would not do this. Sam is a generational talent and should be swiftly confirmed.
This is extraordinary and bad. Sam Adkisson is a dream pick for President Trump appointing someone with superb credentials and the potential to be a judge for a long time. I'm shocked. Failing to return a blue slip on Sam is something I'd expect from Sheldon Whitehouse!
We are asking the public to comment on what requirements the FTC should put in place to ensure online platforms have the proper incentive to end these scams once and for all.
Americans are losing billions of dollars to scammers impersonating governments and businesses, often using Big Tech’s platforms. The FTC is fighting back. Today, we seek comment on whether we need new tools to aid in our fight against online scams.
That’s not a surprise, considering the platforms delivering these bogus advertisements profit both through optimizing and spreading these scams on fraudsters’ behalf. Big Tech sells both the highly personalized connection to the public that imposters need to pull off their misdeeds and the expertise necessary to maximize their effectiveness.
