Thank you to everyone that gave
in support of the work we do during
@ammanfordchurch Fun Day in Llandybie at the start
of the month. Your donations will go directly to help
prevent further crises in the lives of people in our
communities. Diolch!
Your support keeps us going & we're always thankful for every tin & carton - if you're able to support us this week here's a list of our current shortages. If you can drop anything into a Donation station that'd be brilliant!
⚠️ Make sure you claim your Energy Bill Support Scheme (EBSS) vouchers soon! If you haven’t redeemed any vouchers so far, you’ll be out of pocket by £400.
All vouchers must be used by 30 June.
Please help support @AFoodbank where you can to support local people struggling
The drop off point is open 5-8pm this evening at our friends across @AmmanfordCC @TrussellTrust
We are partnering with @AFoodbank (Ammanford Foodbank) this weekend and using the pavilion in the park as a Drop Off Point for essential goods to help local people in need in our community. To all our members, players & visitors if you’re able to support, plz see details below 👇
@LoveWilko we use your notebooks for our volunteers in our Help Centre as they meet with people in need - any chance your Ammanford branch might be able to donate some more? We're running out due to the number of people we see needing help! Any help would be great!
Anxious? That’s okay. Here’s a few things that might help 👇🏾
Spend the day in comfortable company
Plan an activity for after the alert
Check in with your support network
PS. For whatever reason you have one, and need to keep it hidden, turn your second phone off 💙
🧵 Right now Universal Credit doesn’t cover the costs of all the essentials we need to get by.
So today, we’re at Finsbury Park with @jrf_uk with the receipt to prove it.
The basic rate of Universal Credit is £85 a week, but our research with @jrf_uk shows that, in order to cover the essentials, it needs to be at least £120.
It doesn’t add up.
This is forcing people across the UK to go without the essentials, and is pushing them to food banks.
Our Chief Executive, Emma Revie, spoke about how this is affecting people across the UK right now.
Ben, who volunteers at @WarringtonFB and was previously supported by the food bank himself, also told us how people in his local community have been affected.
From next month, #UniversalCredit will be set at £85 a week for a single adult, but there’s a significant gap between this and living costs. Our research shows that in order to cover the essentials, it must be increased to at least £120 p/w. https://t.co/RsUwJcJmQn #OurEssentials
The Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Funding scheme is now open. This is a £400 payment to households without a direct relationship to a domestic energy supplier. Find out more and apply. #EnergyBills
