@Gleeou812@BillArnoldTeach Except there is NO sola scriptura in the bible, it was an invention of DEAD Luther.
And as for the "wisdom from above" please tell why so many protestant claim to adhere to scripture, and yet all believe different things?
You follow traditions of men, and not even saintly men!
@HilarityjaneArt To believe the Church has defected is worse than satanism. At least satanists believe in the Church, even though, as their enemy, while, people like you would rather say Christ lied than kneel and pray for His will to be done on HIS CHURCH.
@BosniaNTBall What do you expect from an average US citizen? C'mon, years ago most of their population would surf AOL's site ecosystem and thought it was the Internet!
@Gleeou812@BillArnoldTeach If you want to follow your head and twisted understanding of scripture, go ahead and see where it leads you.
I will keep with two thousand years of holier and wiser men and women than you or me.
@Gleeou812@BillArnoldTeach He asks him three times if he loves Him, first two using the word Agape, last using Philia. Meaning, Our Lord accepted the love Peter could give at the time, and told him that he would eventually love him Agape when he died a martyr.
The signs are all there, clear as glass!
@Gleeou812@BillArnoldTeach Why do you think the Father revealed this to Peter in the first place? Why not to John, Andrew, James or all of them together?
Think a little harder!
Christ does not stop at "the father revealed...". Read the rest!
@Gleeou812@BillArnoldTeach This argument has been rebuked several times already, and protestants insist on it. The only ones who read scripture looking for one verse are you. The same Christ who rebuked Peter kept him in high regard throughout His ministry. Yet you concentrate on one episode!
Blessed Volodymyr Ivanovych Pryima was a Ukrainian Greek Catholic layman, husband, father, and martyr whose life exemplified quiet faithfulness amid persecution. Born on July 17, 1906, in the village of Stradch near Lviv in western Ukraine, he grew up in a devout family where his father served as a deacon. Volodymyr trained at a school for cantors under the guidance of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi, becoming the cantor and choir director in his local parish church. In 1931 he married Maria Stoyko, and the couple raised two young children in a home marked by prayer and service.
He lived an ordinary yet exemplary existence as a layperson deeply committed to his faith. Respected by his neighbors for his honesty and integrity, Volodymyr actively participated in church life even as the Bolshevik regime intensified its attacks on the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. His devotion shone through in his daily work supporting the liturgy and in his willingness to assist his priest without hesitation.
On June 26, 1941, shortly after the outbreak of war between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, Volodymyr accompanied his parish priest, Father Mykola Konrad, to bring the sacraments to a sick woman in a neighboring village. On their return through the forest, agents of the Soviet NKVD seized them. The two men were brutally tortured and murdered. Volodymyr's body, discovered days later, bore the marks of severe violence, including multiple bayonet wounds to the chest. He died at the age of thirty-four, leaving behind his wife and small children.
Together with Father Konrad, Blessed Volodymyr was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2001 as a martyr for the faith. In 2012 the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church proclaimed him patron of the laity, recognizing him as a model for ordinary believers called to holiness in family life, parish service, and courageous witness.
@Gleeou812@BillArnoldTeach He can, because God can everything, yet that is not the ordinary way He chose and told us how He would do.
He said clearly: "you are Peter...upon this rock (Peter) I will build My Church. Hades will not prevail against it... I will give you (Peter) the keys... To bind and unbind
@Gleeou812@BillArnoldTeach Your long words avail nothing. The Word IS CHRIST, not a book. The book was neither written nor commanded to be written by Christ. He created a Church, gave it power and authority and set it as the pillar of truth, which is HIM! And this Church penned the bible and canonized it.
@Gleeou812@BillArnoldTeach You are confusing the written word with the Word, which is Christ.
Typical protestant error.
Or, as Fr. Paulo Ricardo famously said: "protestants think the bible fell from heaven with zipper lock and all"
