@turnintoabat I think it is also very notable that when people present these that always present them as an inherent binary and not two points positioned in a spectrum
@CantEverDie I am still so confused what is being problematized? Like, "egg culture" is misogynistic, homophobic and transphobic - based on what exactly?
@HANGALLRAPISTS You are directly echoing talking points positioning trans culture as a misogynistic and homophobic social force.
Furthermore you are presenting "egg culture" as self evidently problematic without any analytical basis in an already hostile and inflammatory enviroment
@GrumbleSquid And do you pray tell think that blanket aborting all MS fetuses will ever result in developing that hypothetical treatment?
You just end up arguing for the exact same society enacting systemic violence be able to further justify their inaction of accommodation
@GrumbleSquid I don't agree with that assesment on the basis that that is very much not my position to judge and additionally I find the prospect frightening and hard to seperate from "mercy eugenics"
@GrumbleSquid I don't think I agree with that assesment. I am not opposed to abortion by any measure. What I am however opposed to is any institution making the value judgement of what lives are worth living on the basis of disability
@GrumbleSquid@SchizoMellie What about the people with MS that don't think they should have been aborted? How do you determine what disabilities are too debilitating for a life worth living?
@syc0phant__@shitterly That is just simply a function of symbolic violence, the subject of violence is not going to always articulate their frustration in the most palatable way.
It is very hard also trying to maintain a palatable tone in online spaces because they are already charged against us.
@maybe_alexandr@EstrogenChic@shitterly Twitters letter count is far far too restrictive for me to write a response with the nuance the subject deserves.
That being said, what I am arguing is not that beginners should only draw white people, it is however to say that art exists in a social context
@syc0phant__@shitterly Definitely. But I think the frustration lies in exactly that there is very little common narrative in a lot of online queer art circles that informs people that trans women, and girls, is a sensitive subject to portray.
@maybe_alexandr@EstrogenChic@shitterly I dont think being bad at art is a moral failure. I actually don't think I am making a moral statement but a practical one. Once the art is made, the authors intend matters little. Part of learning to be a good artist is learning to understand the context in which your art exists
@syc0phant__@shitterly Portraying a murdered trans girl is not a good subject for a learner. This should not be a controversial statement and has been common praxis throughout all the art circles i have found myself in
@maybe_alexandr@EstrogenChic@shitterly I mean, is that weird? If you are inexperienced it makes sense to be weary of subjects with a history of vicious portrayals.
@LargoLentoVento@LucyPharazon@Undue_Risk For reference because i got blocked without being able to make a response. It is not about trans men being brought up but the way trans men where brought up. Specifically positioning the broader group of trans men in relation the specific group trans lesbians
@LargoLentoVento@LucyPharazon@Undue_Risk Weird response but ok I'll bite. You even bringing up trans men in this manner for instance is kinda weird, I'm not talking about trans men, but the fact you felt the need to do so is kinda indicative of how discoursively trans lesbians are positioned here
@RMSentry@SadieLiath 1k likes for a snarky remark at a trans woman who was the victim of abuse and had the audacity to not be graceful about it. Nice, real fucking nice
