@lolimhereforkek@amber_dot_sky Same claim dawg, AI is sampling, can be used for good or bad art. The only thing different is in the first one I said “literally just” which if that’s what ur talking about you clearly just nitpicking for kek
@lolimhereforkek@amber_dot_sky It’s the same claim lmao just without the point that it is sampling, which I already said, there’s no argument that it isn’t sampling data
@DependentPhone Ok explain to me how a transformer isn’t sampling data, finding relationships and making a prediction based on them then… oh wait that’s the definition.
@lolimhereforkek@amber_dot_sky Whether or not the model “knows” anything doesn’t have anything to do with my point. It’s sampling data based on the prompt, no way around that. My point is that it can be used in artistically lazy ways or interesting ways by humans, just like regular sampling.
@lolimhereforkek It fits exactly with how probabilistic LLMs and transformers work. They literally predict and sample from a massive dataset according to your prompt. The data is mapped with numerical weights that are tuned by the relationships between each piece of data.
@splooshdaddy@ihatetylxr@johndoeunlisted A genre also rooted in sampling, which is literally what AI does. Just like sampling it can be lazily/badly done which is equivalent to stealing, or well done and evolve and push art forward 🤷♂️ main issue is the economic neglect of artists in our society not the technology itself
@ianogaf What music that is popular and too complex are you referring to? Cause most everything popular is super dumbed down these days. Complexity mixed with simplicity is better than just simple triad slop imo. Embrace the chaos and dissonance it gives a much better range
@TomMontalk Parasitism exists for sure but so does mutualism and symbiosis, so there’s the same macroscale correspondences to those as well. It’s easy to get pessimistic and focus on parasitic entities and forget there are mutualist benevolent ones as well
@darkvdred Won’t change a thing unless you know how to actually analyze it kabbalistically. Random number matches don’t mean equivalency. Ppl really be seeing one match in the english cipher and conclude everything is scripted 😭
@madebyabra And if it’s more for political/resource reasons, I get it. But you’re not stopping OpenAI and Elon by flaming Flylo for making an AI visualizer. AIs not going anywhere, better we make it our own and decentralize it rather than let the corporates have free reign but not artists
@madebyabra It’s like boycotting DAWs and Splice because some people just drag the stock loops in and don’t do anything else. Like yeah that slop uncreative song is gonna suck but that doesn’t mean you can’t put in some work and make a dope song in it with creativity and more effort.
@TayeOlusola F major wouldn’t contain the B either, not sure I get what your point is. Dminor and Fmajor fundamentally have the same set of notes while C and Bb major do not. Pretty sure the root note doesn’t really matter in autotune it just autocorrects pitches to the nearest note in scale
