@cobeywilliamson@wildfiretoday This is doable with additional payloads for those cell denied area but 100 percent doable with the Team Awareness Kit. https://t.co/G7ioWamQ6k The good thing is the USFS is already piloting this as a solution.
@wildfiretoday It was an honor to consult with PCAST on this subject. The USFS has been piloting the Android Team Awareness Kit. It is used by the military and is built as is to be a tracker and field navigation too. It will ride on a variety of networks, MANET, SAT, CELL, LORA, VHF/UHF/7-800.
@unfuckedfire Totally! I have a rookie now and I ask questions to gauge their knowledge base. It my job to pass on my experiences (good/bad) and tips for them to develop their tradecraft. Its not my job to make them feel like an idiot for not knowing something.
@MontroseSAR Really got to get you guys exposed to ATAK. We are using the heck out of it for Swiftwater. Such an amazing tool and so extensible for your mission set. https://t.co/G7ioWamQ6k
@fireengineering I did the math worked 5300 hours of OT roughly 230 - 24 hour shifts, we work 120 regular shifts so this person had no time off unless he took vacation hours.
@HeliSlacker @HotshotWake Did the math. OT rate is $92 an hour. Worked 5523 hours of OT. Thats 230 shifts. We already work 120 shifts a year. This guy had no time off unless he took his own shift off occasionally. LAFD pay in on the higher side of things due to cost of living.
@HeliSlacker @HotshotWake The math. Divide the base pay by 26 payperiods. We work 106 hours in two weeks payperiod straight time. Divide 2 week base by 106. That will be the hourly rate. Multiply that by 1.5 and there is your OT hour rate. Take the OT earnings and dive by OT hour rate = OT hours worked.
