And he has been busy with other things these past several weeks.

I’m going to say this because no one else will.

When Elon Musk monetized X accounts, it was a great and brave experiment.

That’s been going on now for quite a while, and many, MANY people have incorporated that nice little twice-monthly bump in income into their daily lives.

It’s not a ton of money for most people, but depending on your situation it can make a huge difference: a car payment, a week’s groceries, etc.

It’s human nature to count on those funds when they become reliable over a period of many months to years.

So when the algorithm suddenly changes without warning and guts those payments, it has an effect on the real lives of people who bought into what X was promising.

It’s sort of like being fired from a job without warning.

I know I will get grief over this from non-monetized accounts, and I don’t care.

I know none of us has a contractual right to payments, and there is nothing illegal going on here.

But legality and morality are not always the same thing, and X management would do better to understand that they are playing with the lives of many users and their families.

Somebody needs to say this, so I am.
