PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS VETERAN ACTOR TAIWO HASSAN, OGOGO

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of veteran Nollywood actor, filmmaker and screenwriter, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following his demise.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President describes late Hassan as a distinguished artiste whose career spanned several decades and whose contributions helped shape the growth of Yoruba-language theatre and Nigerian cinema.

He noted that through his distinctive acting style, powerful screen presence and dedication to his craft, Ogogo entertained generations of Nigerians while promoting the richness of Yoruba culture and Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage.

President Tinubu says Ogogo’s body of work would remain an important part of Nigeria’s cultural history, adding that his mentorship and influence on younger artistes further underscored his enduring legacy in the creative industry.

The President says, “Alhaji Taiwo Hassan was a gifted artiste who used his talent to tell Nigerian stories, preserve our cultural heritage and entertain audiences at home and abroad.

“His passing is a great loss to his family, the Yoruba film industry, Nollywood and the entire Nigerian creative community.

“On behalf of the Federal Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, friends and millions of admirers. I pray that Almighty Allah will grant him eternal rest and give his loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”

He urges members of the creative industry and Nigerians to honour Ogogo’s memory by preserving and building on the cultural values and artistic traditions to which he devoted his life.

The President also prays for the peaceful repose of the late actor’s soul.

Truth is bitter. However, we shall see how Makinde will do his own magic in 2026, then it will be cleared to everyone the reason behind Adeleke's immediate appreciation of Tinubu’s effort.

I had no electoral deal or partnership with the ADC before, during, or after the governorship election.

The credit for our victory goes to God Almighty and the good people of Osun State for their overwhelming support and re-election.

For the sake of history, it is important to clarify that the ADC was never part of the rainbow coalition that canvassed, mobilised, and supported our campaign in the battle leading to last Saturday’s election.

NDC and ADC are a mockery to Opposition politics in Nigeria. Imagine, Adeleke that left the PDP, wanted to join the APC, was almost in the APC until he was turned down locally. Yet, he left the PDP, saw ADC, NDC, SDP etc and ignored them, chose Accord, won election and still thanked Tinubu, reendorsing him again. Yet, a very useless opposition still eyeing him. This is definition of inferiority complex. Low self-esteem and hopelessness in one's future.

You're toasting a lady who, herself, is also toasting another man, rejected by the man she was toasting, she didn't still give you a chance, suddenly you heard that she got pregnant and delivered a bouncing baby, you're now mocking the man the lady was initially toasting, but to your shame, the lady thanked the same man for the baby she had.
