Kylee Wilder - Etowah High School
Wilder, a junior ATH, was recently named to the North softball roster to participate in the North South All Star Sports Week. She was named 2nd team all state by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
The AHSAA Radio Network Coastal Alabama High School Male Golfer of the Year presented by Greene & Phillips - Injury Lawyers is UMS-Wright Preparatory School sophomore golfer Henry Brown. The young sophomore played all season in the number one position for the varsity team. Henry’s season tournament average was 71.06 with a total of -15 through 16 rounds of golf competition. Four of Henry’s rounds were shot in the 60s. The Bulldogs, coached by Brent Daugherty, are perennial state champion contenders.
Henry at this year‘s 7A state tournament held at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, shot 67 in the opening round and 69 in the final round to finish runner-up to the low medalist at -8. With two more years of high school competition, Henry will undoubtedly be one of the top 10 golfers in all classifications in the state of Alabama.

Brooke McGowin - Baldwin County High School
McGowin is considered one of the top softball prospects in Alabama for the 2027 class. The middle infielder batted .385 on the season and will compete in the North South All Star Softball game this summer.

14 players in state history finished a single season with 3900+ yards of total offense. One of the 14 was Jeremy Johnson with G. W. Carver High School. Following his senior season he was named Mr. Football for the state of Alabama.

Everette Minshew - Deshler_High
Minshew continued his outstanding tennis career in 2026. He is a 3 time state champion at #1 singles, and 2 time state champion at #1 doubles... all of this winning while competing in 3 sports in high school - basketball, cross country and tennis. He has signed to play tennis at UAB.

5 football teams in state history have eclipsed the 700 win plateau. One of the 5 is Fayette County High School with 730. The Tigers have one state championship, 1996, and 16 region titles. Coach Waldon Tucker coached the team for 29 years picking up 239 of these wins along the way. Harry Unger that went on to star for Auburn University was one of the most decorated players in school history being named All Southern and Super All State in 1968.
