A couple of of out YPI finalists attended the 15th YPI national showcase in Perth last week. They enjoyed watching creative elements from across Scotland, motivational speakers and music from Ben West and Callum Beattie.

Next, our battalion marched down the Passchendaele Ridge to Tynecot, to pay respects to a former pupil in the largest British War Cemetery in the world (and Ben revealed he was related to him!) 2/3

The final page of our Battlefields Experience, a private ceremony to honour the dead on behalf of the 10th Arbroath Pals.
An emotional, moving, and bonding experience for all involved, and a fantastic end to a special trip π§πͺ

2 bonus posts this evening, as we firstly gathered at the Menin Gate to lay a wreath on behalf of AHS.
Poppy, Eve and Finlay were fantastic, and the ceremony was incredibly moving for all.
Our final 2 stops of the afternoon were at Langemark, where we honoured the brave German soldiers who were so similar to the young Brits we have learned about, and then the town of Ypres, the focal point of the battles in the area. 3/3
Day 3: Our final day for the 10th Arbroath Pals Battalion.
First to Essex Farm, then Vancouver Corner to pay our respects to the brave Canadians who faced gas attacks.
Poelkapelle Cemetery was next, where we each honoured an unknown soldier with a poppy. A somber moment 1/2
Visiting the relatives of Finlay, David, Daisy and Adam today to pay our respects for their great sacrifice.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.
A busy day 2 for our Arbroath Pals! Exploring around the Somme with Newfoundland Park, Thiepval, and Lochnagar Crater. This included laying a wreath on behalf of AHS.
We also visited a few cemeteries to honour some relatives of our pupils! More detail on those to follow! π«π·π«π·
