It is a true PITA. Here's my advice to all. Remember there is a bit of truth in every lie. And the lies pile sky high. Be super skeptical of everything. That doesn't mean buy into ever conspiracy theory, because honestly most of them are way off the rails and psyops of some kind in their own right. But question everything. And if something feels off, it sounds dumb, but ask AI to summarize the info for you.

People like to make fun of others asking Grok, but there is a reason they do. They are questioning what they're hearing or reading because something feels off. If it feels off, it probably is, and the least you can do is get a summary of the available info (correct or incorrect) so you can be slightly informed and continue to have questions.

We're never going to know everything. To think you will is naive. Yes we all "want" to know the truth. But the truth will continue to be hidden until something "miraculous" unveils it. Which IMHO will likely never happen. Take that to mean what you want to make of it, but that's my take on it.

Know that there is a lot of shady shit going on. Accept it, and do your best to keep your mind sharp at recognizing it. Bottom line the one thing we hopefully still have some control over (with our vote, protests, etc...) is to maintain our rights as they're outlined in The Bill of Rights. That is literally the shield that protects us, despite it being violated left and right daily. Sorry the rest of the world, but you're going to have to count on the USA on setting the example for protecting freedom, and hope your countries follow.

I don't understand how people can be financially responsible enough to have saved up the money to make a 20% down payment on a 600k+ house in California (at her age no doubt), yet be so ignorant about how mortgages and interest work that they're appalled by their first mortgage statement.

You get an amortization schedule as part of the loan closing docs. None of this should be surprising to her.
