AIIGMA in Toronto! Day 2 of the India-Canada Business Delegation meetings and the momentum only grows stronger.

AIIGMA is proud to be part of one of the largest-ever Business Delegations from India to Canada, led by Hon'ble Commerce & Industry Minister @PiyushGoyal — a historic moment for Indian industry on the global stage.

On Day 1, Hon'ble Maninder Sidhu, @MSidhuLiberal Minister of International Trade of Canada, set the tone with a powerful address:

"The world is being reshaped. Supply chains are shifting, old assumptions are breaking down. Canada made a deliberate choice — we are not going to wait out the uncertainty. We are going to lean in."

And perhaps his most defining line:

"If you're not at the table, you are on the menu. And Canada is certainly at the table."

With trade powering 70% of Canada's economy and Canada negotiating more trade agreements than at any point in its history, this delegation continues to open significant opportunities for India's industrial gases sector to build bilateral partnerships and establish itself as a credible global player.

We are honoured to share that Shri Saket Tiku, President – AIIGMA, has been nominated by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, to be part of the Business Delegation to Canada led by Hon’ble Commerce & Industry Minister Shri @PiyushGoyal.

The delegation visit is scheduled from 25–27 May 2026.

This recognition reflects the growing importance of India’s Industrial & Medical Gases sector at the national policy level. AIIGMA remains committed to representing the interests of the industry and contributing towards India’s industrial, healthcare and energy security objectives.

The inaugural session in Colombo commenced with the arrival and warm welcome of distinguished dignitaries, setting a progressive and forward-looking tone for the conference. The ceremony included the felicitation of the Chief Guest and honoured guests, marking the beginning of meaningful dialogue and collaboration.

We were honoured by the presence of Dr. Satyanjal Pandey - Deputy High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka , who emphasised the growing economic and energy cooperation between India and Sri Lanka and the importance of reliable industrial infrastructure; Ms. Sumita Dawra,Former Secretary Government of India who highlighted policy-driven growth, skill development, and the need for strengthening industrial ecosystems; and Mr. Hanif Yousoof, Governor, Western
province, Sri Lanka & Presidential Envoy for Foreign Investments, who spoke on enhancing foreign investments, fostering bilateral trade, and positioning Sri Lanka as a strategic partner in the region.

The session also featured the Presidential Address by Mr. Saket Tiku, outlining the association’s vision and strategic priorities, followed by the Welcome Address by Mr. K. R. Sahasranamam, who set the context for the seminar and warmly welcomed all delegates.

Held under the theme “Partners in Progress – Advancing India–Sri Lanka Trade in Industrial & Medical Gases,” the session reflected AIIGMA’s commitment to strengthening regional ties, enabling industry collaboration, and driving shared growth. 🇮🇳🤝🇱🇰

AIIGMA's 43rd International Seminar on Industrial and Medical Gases in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, was a grand success!

The Inaugural session, graced by His Excellency Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India, Ho Chi Minh City, and senior officials from the Ministry of Health, and Ms. Mai Phong Lan from Ministry of Planning & Investment, Vietnam, set the tone for the event. Six insightful sessions, including a Special session, featured industry experts and thought leaders sharing insights. Mr. Saket Tiku, AIIGMA President, affirmed support for Vietnam's medical oxygen goals, highlighting India's solidarity in healthcare. Keynote by Mr. Karan Bhatia, a renowned industry leader, explored emerging trends and innovations.

The seminar served as a catalyst for fostering partnerships and exploring new avenues for mutual growth and development in the global gas industry.
