I was proud to vote for the Senate budget resolution today, which gets us closer to true Fair Pay for home care workers. It raises their pay to $5 above minimum wage and assures that money goes to the workers, not big insurance companies.

The Senate and Assembly just released their state budget proposals, their response to Gov. Hochul's budget plan. Here's a rundown on what they contained re: priorities for independent living centers. The final agreement will be hashed out over the next 2 weeks.

IL Funding: both houses did not include $2m increase in their one house budgets. They both included 8.5% COLA for human services which doesn't include IL because we are in the State Education budget.
