The Calcutta High Court’s order today to restart MGNREGA in Bengal is a blow to the BJP’s politics of revenge.

Unable to accept the people’s mandate in 2021, the BANGLA BIRODHI BJP froze MGNREGA funds and choked off rural employment. This wasn’t governance - It was revenge and retribution.

The Court’s directive today to resume the scheme from August 1, 2025 is a step toward restoring justice.
We welcome it.

We made a promise to the people of Bengal - that we would fight for their rights with every ounce of strength in our bodies and we reaffirm our commitment to fight for Bengal against the ZAMINDARS in every forum, at every level.

You, the people, made Diamond Harbour No. 1 in terms of victory margin. I am determined to make it No. 1 in terms of real, inclusive development.

The BJP may deploy all the money and muscle at its disposal, but what it will never command is the trust of the people. I have no doubt that 2026 will mark the farewell tour of the BJP in Bengal. The people are ready. It’s time for 'Bidaay Jananor Pala'.

Today, at the Amtala Somonnoy Auditorium, I had the honour of launching the SEBAASHRAY initiative, dedicated to ensuring the good health of every resident of Diamond Harbour. Starting January 2, 2025, this initiative will span across the Lok Sabha constituency, embodying the spirit of HEALTHCARE WITH A HUMAN FACE.

I am deeply grateful to the 1,200 esteemed doctors who have joined hands with us in this mission. I trust that the warmth and hospitality of Diamond Harbour will leave a lasting impression on them.

For me, Diamond Harbour is the synonym of love and devotion. To my beloved people, who are my strength and inspiration, I pledge to serve selflessly and repay their blessings.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone for their kind wishes following my recent eye surgery. Since the road accident in 2016, I have faced ongoing challenges with my vision and this was my eighth surgery. I am glad to share that the procedure went well and I am doing fine. While I am on the mend, I have to follow certain post-operative guidelines and precautions to ensure a smooth healing and recovery. I stay hopeful and sincerely appreciate all your love, concern and kind wishes. 🙏🏻
