Secretary Harris has issued a letter addressing yesterday’s incident involving the Governor of Texas and the President’s memorandum concerning the situation in Texas that was sent to the Secretary.

The Department of Homeland Security is aware of reports regarding actions taken by Texas officials related to the Secretary’s planned border visit. The Secretary was acting under lawful federal authority. DHS has paused travel and referred the matter to the Department of Justice.
