Apologies to elaborate, but before the PR team starts scrubbing the internet, terminology of “Hawaiian Native” (citizen non-native) was used to describe her. Luckily she has a sister in media as well, they have never claimed Native Hawaiian prior to this casting.

"Hawaiian" is an ethnicity. at the very least we'd want some1 of Hawaiian ethnicity; rep-wise we'd want some1 who *looks* it, not yet another actor who fits euro-centric beauty standards (who r chosen bc they're the "safe" option)
