امریکی یہودی کانگریس کے صدر دانیال روزن اور چیئرمین جیک روزن نے مندرجہ ذیل بیان جاری کیا:

"صدر ٹرمپ کی یہ تجویز کہ ایران بحران کو سنبھالنے میں مدد دینے والی بڑی عرب اور مسلم ریاستیں اسرائیل کے ساتھ تعلقات کو وسعت دیں اور ابراہیمی معاہدوں میں شامل ہوں، دراصل اس علاقائی حقیقت کی عکاسی کرتی ہے جو اب مشرقِ وسطیٰ کی اسٹریٹجک سمت متعین کر رہی ہے: خطے کی اہم ترین ریاستیں اب ایک جیسے خطرات کا سامنا کر رہی ہیں اور ان کے اسٹریٹجک مفادات بھی بڑی حد تک مشترک ہو چکے ہیں۔

اگر اسرائیل، سعودی عرب، متحدہ عرب امارات، اور قطر کو کوئی چیز جوڑتی ہے تو وہ یہ ہے: یہ ایسی ریاستیں اور قیادتیں ہیں جو زندگی، خوشحالی، اور جدت پر یقین رکھتی ہیں۔ یہ مل کر مشرقِ وسطیٰ کا مستقبل دوبارہ تشکیل دے سکتی ہیں۔

یہ کہنا بھی ضروری ہے کہ یہ دلیل کہ عرب-اسرائیل تعاون کو مثالی حالات تک مؤخر کرنا چاہیے، بار بار غلط ثابت ہوا ہے۔ ابراہیمی معاہدوں کو بھی ناممکن قرار دیا گیا تھا، مگر بعد میں وہ جدید مشرقِ وسطیٰ کی اہم ترین اسٹریٹجک پیش رفتوں میں شامل ہو گئے۔

حقیقت یہ ہے کہ عرب-اسرائیل پیش رفتیں کبھی مثالی حالات میں نہیں ہوئیں۔ وہ اس وقت ممکن ہوئیں جب علاقائی قیادتوں نے غیر یقینی حالات میں حقیقت پسندی، بصیرت، اور جرات مندانہ فیصلہ سازی کا مظاہرہ کیا، جسکے پیچھے مضبوط امریکی قیادت کی پشت پناہی موجود تھی، جیسے آج ہے۔

یہ بھی حقیقت ہے کہ 7 اکتوبر کے بعد ایرانی دہشتگرد نیٹ ورکس کی جانب سے پھیلائی گئی تباہی اور اس کے بعد آنے والی علاقائی کشیدگی کے باعث خطہ اب بھی شدید عدم استحکام کا شکار ہے۔

لیکن اسرائیل اور اس کے عرب و مسلم شراکت داروں کے درمیان اختلافات کو حد سے زیادہ بڑھا چڑھا کر پیش نہیں کرنا چاہیے۔ اختلافات موجود ہیں، مگر رابطہ اور تعاون ہی فاصلے کم کرنے کا بہترین راستہ ہے۔

اگر اس موقع سے فائدہ نہ اٹھایا گیا تو اس کا نتیجہ صرف مزید عدم استحکام، بداعتمادی، اور علاقائی تقسیم کی صورت میں نکلے گا، اور انہی حالات کا ایران اور اس کے نیٹ ورکس دہائیوں سے فائدہ اٹھاتے آئے ہیں۔

اسی طرح اگر ایران نواز عسکریت پسندی اور بدامنی کو عرب-اسرائیل تعلقات کے مستقبل کا فیصلہ کرنے دیا گیا تو اس سے صرف تشدد کے وہ سلسلے مزید گہرے ہوں گے جنہوں نے اسرائیلیوں، عربوں، اور فلسطینیوں سب کو نقصان پہنچایا ہے۔

امریکہ، اسرائیل، اور حقیقت پسند عرب و مسلم ریاستوں پر مشتمل ایک مضبوط علاقائی فریم ورک شاید کئی دہائیوں میں پہلی بار ایسا موقع فراہم کر سکتا ہے جو انتہا پسند تحریکوں کو کمزور کرے، خطے کو مستحکم بنائے، اعتدال پسند ریاستوں کو مضبوط کرے، اور فلسطینی اصلاحات، اسلحہ کے خاتمے، ادارہ سازی، اور طویل المدتی امن کیلئے  سنجیدہ بنیادیں فراہم کر سکے۔

الكونغرس اليهودي الأمريكي: التعاون العربي-الإسلامي-الإسرائيلي ضرورة استراتيجية وليس ترفاً

أصدر رئيس الكونغرس اليهودي الأمريكي دانيال روزِن ورئيس مجلس الإدارة جاك روزِن التصريح التالي:

"إن اقتراح الرئيس ترمب بأن توسّع الدول العربية والإسلامية الكبرى التي تساعد في إدارة أزمة إيران علاقاتها مع إسرائيل وتنضم إلى الإتفاقيات الإبراهيمية، يعكس واقعاً إقليمياً بدأ يرسم الاتجاه الاستراتيجي الجديد للشرق الأوسط: فالدول الأكثر أهمية في المنطقة باتت تواجه التهديدات نفسها وتتقاسم كثيراً من المصالح الاستراتيجية ذاتها.

وليس من الصعب تبرير مثل هذا التوجه. فتحالف عربي-إسلامي-إسرائيلي يعمل بشكل وثيق مع الولايات المتحدة من شأنه أن يعزز الردع الإقليمي، ويساعد على منع إيران من إعادة بناء قدراتها، ويحمي الممرات البحرية الحيوية والبنية التحتية للطاقة، ويؤسس لإطار أكثر استقراراً للنمو الاقتصادي والأمن الإقليمي على المدى الطويل.

إذا كان هناك ما يجمع إسرائيل مع السعودية والإمارات وقطر، فهو أن هذه دول وقيادات تؤمن بالحياة والازدهار والابتكار. ومعاً، يمكنها أن تساعد في إعادة رسم مستقبل الشرق الأوسط.

هذا ليس طرحاً نظرياً. فبعض هذا التنسيق قائم بالفعل بهدوء عبر قنوات الاستخبارات والدفاع والتكنولوجيا والأمن البحري وإدارة الأزمات. واللحظة الحالية تكشف واقعاً تدركه بالفعل حكومات كثيرة في المنطقة بعيداً عن الأضواء.

أما الادعاء بأن التعاون العربي-الإسرائيلي يجب أن ينتظر ظروفاً مثالية، فقد ثبت خطؤه مراراً. فالاتفاقيات الإبراهيمية نفسها وُصفت يوماً بأنها مستحيلة قبل أن تتحول إلى أحد أهم الاختراقات الاستراتيجية في تاريخ الشرق الأوسط الحديث.

وفي الحقيقة، لم تتحقق الاختراقات العربية-الإسرائيلية يوماً في ظروف مثالية، بل جاءت عندما تحرك قادة المنطقة بروح المبادرة والواقعية والرؤية الاستراتيجية خلال فترات الغموض، وبدعم أمريكي قوي وواضح، كما اليوم.

صحيح أن المنطقة ما تزال تعيش اضطراباً عميقاً بعد المجازر التي أطلقتها إيران ووكلاؤها في السابع من أكتوبر، وما تبعها من تصعيد إقليمي واسع.

لكن لا ينبغي المبالغة في حجم الخلافات بين إسرائيل وشركائها العرب والمسلمين. نعم، هناك تباينات في بعض الملفات، لكن الانخراط والحوار يبقيان أفضل وسيلة لتقليص الفجوات.

إن الفشل في استغلال هذه اللحظة لن يؤدي إلا إلى إطالة أمد عدم الاستقرار وانعدام الثقة والانقسامات الإقليمية التي استغلتها إيران ووكلاؤها لعقود.

كما أن السماح للميليشيات وحالة الفوضى بأن تحدد مستقبل العلاقات العربية-الإسرائيلية لن يؤدي إلا إلى تعميق دوامات العنف التي أضرت بالإسرائيليين والعرب والفلسطينيين على حد سواء.

إن إطاراً إقليمياً أقوى يضم دولاً عربية ومسلمة براغماتية - إلى جانب إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة - قد يمثل أفضل فرصة منذ عقود لإضعاف الحركات المتطرفة، وتحقيق الاستقرار، وتعزيز دول وسياسات الاعتدال، وتهيئة ظروف أكثر جدية للإصلاح الفلسطيني ونزع السلاح وبناء المؤسسات وتحقيق سلام طويل الأمد.

إن منع إيران من امتلاك قدرات نووية عسكرية، بالتوازي مع توسيع الإتفاقيات الإبراهيمية، سيمثل أحد أهم الإنجازات الاستراتيجية في تاريخ الشرق الأوسط الحديث.

لقد كان الهدف من هجمات السابع من أكتوبر، جزئياً، وقف التغيير الإيجابي الذي بدأ يتشكل في المنطقة. لكن المنطق الاستراتيجي الذي يدفع نحو التعاون الإقليمي اليوم يشير إلى أن المستقبل الذي حاولت إيران تعطيله قد يُبنى في النهاية على أي حال."

The bar was never high. It was never supposed to be difficult to say that a Nazi tattoo and a record of statements against women, Jews, and veterans should at least raise serious questions about the presumptive Democratic nominee for the Senate in Maine, @grahamforMaine.

Unfortunately, in today's partisan climate, that it now requires courage is the story most people are missing.

New York does not need officials who support the Jewish community when it is comfortable. It needs leaders who show up when it counts.

Mayor Adams has set that standard. Now every official in this city should ask themselves whether they are willing to meet it.

Senator @ChrisMurphyCT's defense of @GrahamforMaine rests on a single claim: that he's polling well.

But a Nazi tattoo and posts mocking soldiers and sexual assault victims cannot be redeemed by polling numbers.

The American Jewish Congress Mourns the Passing of Dr. Clarence B. Jones

Dr. Jones occupied a singular place in American history. As personal counsel to Dr. King and a trusted member of his inner circle, he helped draft some of the most consequential words ever spoken in the cause of American freedom, including portions of the "I Have a Dream" speech delivered at the 1963 March on Washington.

In 2006, the American Jewish Congress was proud to honor Dr. Jones, recognizing his lifelong commitment to justice, human dignity, and moral courage.

For our community, Dr. Jones held a particular significance. Among the speakers at the 1963 March on Washington was Rabbi Joachim Prinz, then-president of the American Jewish Congress and a refugee from Nazi Germany, who warned the nation that the most shameful problem of his time was not bigotry alone, but silence in the face of it. Dr. Jones never forgot those words. He called Rabbi Prinz's address the most important speech of that day other than Dr. King's own, recalling that as the rabbi spoke, "you could hear a pin drop." He carried that warning with him for the rest of his life.

Dr. Jones understood the deepest truth of the civil rights movement: that progress was won not by one community alone, but by Americans of different faiths, races, and backgrounds who chose to stand together. The bond between the Black and Jewish communities, forged in shared struggle, was one he honored throughout his life. He leaves a legacy measured not only in the historic words he helped shape, but in the example he set: that conviction and coalition belong together, and that silence is never an option in the face of injustice.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Jones's family and all who knew and loved him. May his memory be a blessing, and may the work to which he devoted his life carry forward in his name.

I am heartbroken over the passing of a civil rights hero: Clarence B. Jones, who served as counsel and close confidant to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a co-organizer of the March on Washington, and a co-writer of the immortal “I Have a Dream” speech.

Clarence Jones is one of the greatest heroes I will ever meet. To have known a moral giant on whose shoulders so many of us stand is a gift from God that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Dr. Jones not only practiced law. He transformed it. And we are all better for it.

May his memory be a blessing.

.@bradlander called Israel's war against Hezbollah "potentially a genocide."

Criticizing a war is legitimate.

But Hezbollah is a U.S.-designated terrorist organization that has fired thousands of rockets at Israeli civilians and openly seeks Israel's destruction. A country defending its people from a terror army is not committing genocide, and every representative and candidate must be able to know and recognize the difference.

Jewish New Yorkers are not asking their candidates to be uncritical. They are asking them to be honest.

The easiest move for @RepAOC here would have been silence, or a hedged half-statement. She chose neither.

Her response to Galindo's antisemitic comments about turning ICE facilities into internment camps for Zionists was direct: this rhetoric “should be nowhere near our politics.”

One might not agree with @AOC on anything else, but on this, she got it right.

The @DNC can release all the autopsies it wants, but if its leaders still refuse to clearly condemn presumptive Democratic Senate Nominee @grahamformaine's highly disqualifying posts about women and excusing his Nazi Tattoo, the reports will not matter.

Voters do not need another consultant memo. They need to see where leaders are actually willing to draw the line. Otherwise we can write the next autopsy now.

Whatever one makes of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez's politics more broadly, her statement on Galindo was the right one. No throat-clearing, no "but," no attempt to contextualize away the obvious.

Galindo’s calls for internment camps and forced castration aimed at Jews are both horrible and dangerous. They truly are "bigoted garbage," and that kind of clarity, from Rep. @AOC's quarter especially, is worth recognizing.

Credit to @RepAOC for calling out Democratic candidate Maureen Galindo, who wants to turn an ICE facility into "A PRISON FOR AMERICAN ZIONISTS" and as "A CASTRATION PROCESSING CENTER FOR PEDOPHILES, WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE MOST OF THE ZIONISTS.”

@AOC's coalition often blurs the line between policy disagreement and antisemitism. She didn't blur it here.

Ambassador @yechielleiter said out loud what many in the Jewish community have been thinking for some time. You cannot claim to be “pro-Israel” while advocating to weaken Israel’s ability to defend itself in the middle of an existential war.

Disagreement over policy is legitimate. Efforts that would leave Israel more vulnerable to Hamas, Hezbollah, or Iran are something very different.

Yesterday, Rep. @MassieforKY lost the Republican primary. His defeat in Kentucky's 4th Congressional District ends a fourteen-year run in Congress and marks one of the most consequential primary outcomes of this electoral cycle, politically and for the Jewish community.

Rep. Massie did not lose because of a single issue. But his record on Israel, on antisemitism, and on the company he chose to keep drew a clear and forceful repudiation from his own constituents.

The voters who had returned him to Washington seven times looked at the "Zionism" meme the White House called virulent antisemitism, the solitary vote against condemning antisemitism on the House floor, the rhetoric about "AIPAC babysitters," and the figures with documented antisemitic records he platformed in the closing days of his campaign, and they said no.

Once voters were able to see Thomas Massie's full-spectrum profile, they made clear they did not see him as representative of their interests, their needs, or their positions. This was not a verdict imposed from outside the district. It was delivered from within it.
