Quebec with a population of 8.43 million people has 78 seats in Parliament and 24 Senators.
AB and BC combined population 9.37 million only gives them 76 seats in Parliament and 12 Senators.

Hell even the Atlantic provinces have more clout than Alberta..
PE,NS,NB,NL combined population 2.4 million and they get 32 seats in Parliament and 24 Senators.

Alberta with population of 4.3 million, almost double the population, only has 2 more seats. Alberta has 34 seats in Parliament and 6 Senators.

New Brunswick with a population of about 780,000 has 10 Senators and Saskatchewan with a population 1.15 million only has 6 Senators.

If Alberta were an independent country, by gross GDP it would be in 36th place, just below Denmark and larger than Egypt, Finland, Portugal and Greece to name a few.

If Canada were to lose Alberta, Canada’s ranking would drop from tenth spot to 14th, just below Australia. No longer a member of the G10.

On a GDP per capita basis of $95,000 in 2024,Alberta would have ranked the 6th richest country in the World. The US would be ranked 10th and Canada would be ranked 25th

Alberta can and should , along with other western provinces be a strong, independent nation.

If Alberta were independent...

It would have more land area than 79% of all nations

It would have a larger GDP than 80% of all other nations

It would have a population larger than 33% of all other nations

It would have more farmland than 91% of all other nations

It would have a higher GDP per capita than 97% of all other nations

At 2% of GDP, it would have more military spending per capita than 98% of all nations

It would be one of the most prosperous and free nations on earth.
