I heard first of the concept of phygital collecting from @veve_official when they partnered with Funko to drop a 3,000 edition blind box which came with both a physical iron man statue and the digital nft that could be redeemed.
I fomo’d and bought 5, had them shipped to a mail facility in the US and drove 3 hours to pick them up.
From that moment, I knew that the concept of phygital collecting could be the single greatest catalyst to onboarding the masses into digital collecting and NFTs that we had ever seen.
The best way to bridge the gap between physical and digital collecting isn’t to compete with or argue for one being better than the other, it’s by providing an experience that highlights the benefits of both in one place.
Phygital collecting allows people to open up to new ideas and concepts while still having the familiarity of the way they have always liked to do something.
I am glad to see so many companies embracing the phygital concept and working to bring new collectors into the digital space, and I am extremely excited to watch as VeVe expands into new verticals and expands the possibilities of what Phygital can be.

In case anyone needs a breakdown, and don't have time to watch my most recent live, here it is.
ORKT is absorbing @veve_official.
All VeVe shareholders will be issued new shares of the current ORKT company that's listed on Nasdaq. Those new shares, which are around 600 million, will be locked up for 1 year from the date VeVe starts trading. Which will likely be before the end of the year.
The 600 million new shares plus ORKT's current shares will then be traded under the ticker $VEVE once the merger happens. Those are probably the only shares that will be tradeable.
That being said VeVe is currently raising 30 to 100 million dollars. If they raise it by issuing new shares at 1 dollar, then another 30 to 100 million new shares will be issues. We don't know if those new shares will also have a lockup period. If they do, then only 2 million or so shares will actually be tradeable. And the price could go absolutely bananas because of it.
If trading starts at 1 dollar, and people push it to 10 dollars, and there's 700 million shares outstanding, then VeVe would have a marketcap of 7 billion. And that's easy to do since 99% of the shares will be locked up.
It's also possible that the new shares issued via the cap raise don't have a lockup period on them. If that's the case, then there could be 100 million shares available for trading day one.
Also.. $OMI to the moon!
