Some of you may remember my research project into the efficacy of Tactical Socks.
These socks have reached the end of their service life & I can now report on this important research.
This person purports to be a serious commentator.
Of all the things we might hope all journalists would know, this is what matters? A course on safe handling that conveys a superficial knowledge of the law?
I've made this argument before. I think all Canadian journalists should do a PAL course even if they don't get a license. It's actually a really good opportunity to understand our gun laws, which most of us, frankly, don't.
@AnnieClaireBO Unable to DM you b/c limiting DMs is apparently part of X strategy to get people to pay for premium.
I followed you, you should now be able to DM me

@_SeanHyndman If they measured it that way, and likely the crown would be no smarter, then the owner would get put thru the wringer, yes
This kind of thing already happens. I'm sure if we were to ask Ian Runkle he could give us examples
NFA lobbyist replies to my post of yesterday, alluding to a 4 gauge shotgun banned in 2020....
Nobody uses 4 ga shotguns to hunt upland birds.
It was already illegal to use a 4 ga for waterfowl hunting: Migratory Birds Regulations 37 (1) (c)
You can't make these people up
@Chrossphyre@winnipegsun My argument is that people who profess to care about accurate reporting on guns ought to be just as eager to correct this.
Let me know if you have further problems with reading comprehension.
The anti-control folks eagerly leap on every little media mistake on guns ... when it suits them.
The photo here? The guns we use to hunt upland birds over dogs are not being banned.
No corrections. How very odd.

@ConBGone@SportsmanOn Don't waste your time. This guy responded to me by listing six 8 gauge shotguns and a kiln gun as examples of guns used to hunt upland birds.
Google what a kiln gun is.... π
@fantail49834087@winnipegsun Both prohib under Criminal Code s. 84, "prohibited firearm" (b) (i), i.e., OAL < 660 mm.
That's unchanged since at least January 2003, oldest version of Criminal Code online.
Two possibilities here:
I'm not as dumb as you think I am.
You're not as smart as you think you are.
@CanWats11@winnipegsun Also, whether certain guns ought to be banned is not the question here. My post concerned the spread of misinformation regarding which guns actually were banned.
Let's try to keep the goalposts in one place, shall we?
@CanWats11@winnipegsun Lots of people hunt upland birds with pumps, for half the price of the Derya Typhoon.
I don't own a $4,000 O/U.
I guess you don't know much about shotguns, huh?
