@shainacordas I love the book! And I can't wait to read Heavenly Tyrant... I'm just a little busy at the moment and don't have the bandwidth, unfortunately. But it's waiting on my nightstand!!!!

Just found this FREE contest for writers of Adult SFF. It's being judged by agent @keslupo, via @writingdayworkshops. Winners get an agent critique of their work. Check out the website: https://t.co/XZI5Oz2fJq.
@Gabino_Iglesias Fun! My synesthesia makes it possible for me to taste words, especially words heavy on the sensory like smell and taste. It makes it so I know exactly what a recipe tastes like or how a scent described in a story feels in my mouth and nose. Not sure if it has a name though.
@LindaWonder When my spouse did web design, he had a boilerplate with all that. It’s standard in many industries. But agent-author/publishing contracts vary so much that asking for a sample is a thing. Several writing associations have samples of what good ones look like too.
I recently received an offer of rep. I purposely didn’t vague post because I was unsure about what to do and how to proceed. Just so many red flags. But I have been querying across projects for several years. And my career feels like it has stalled.

@LindaWonder Contracts in publishing aren’t “boiler plate” and just asking for contact info is not industry standard. When vetting an agent, you ask for a sample contract, and he didn’t even respond to the email requesting that. Never just assume that the contract is standard in publishing.
@WriterMKStone I remember that too. I’ve been in the trenches entirely too long. LOL! But no, I haven’t reported to QM, I doubt they will do anything anyway… The agent *does* have a demonstrated sales record on Publishers’ Marketplace… even if it’s small.
@ChristieCurry25 With everything else going on, I can’t even live with the idea of a bad agent. I’d rather not have one and find a different publishing path.
