Hosting my first lunch as 🇦🇺 Chargé d'Affaires to Japan. Fantastic to join Mr Miyake Shingo, Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs in welcoming Northern Territory Chief Minister Natasha Fyles to 🇯🇵. NT has close investment ties with 🇯🇵 & lots of potential for growth.
Deeply touched by today’s visit by 🇦🇺 PM @AlboMP and FM @SenatorWong. Their kind messages are a great solace at this sad time & show just how close the friendship is between 🇯🇵 and 🇦🇺. Thank you so much #BestMates#NICHIGOU
Leaving a condolence message in memory of former Japanese PM Abe Shinzo in Canberra. Mr Abe was a significant global leader and a good friend of Australia. He will be greatly missed. Australia sends our deepest sympathies to Mrs Abe, the family of Mr Abe, and the people of Japan.
I was deeply moved by my visit to @JapanEmb_AUS with Prime Minister Albanese, to sign the book of condolence for former Prime Minister Abe.
In times of sorrow, we recognise the strength in Australia’s enduring friendship with Japan.
We mourn with the people of Japan.
AJYD delegate @ioriforsyth told @SBS Japanese the projection honouring former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was "a testament to Mr. Abe's significant contributions towards the close friendship that Australia and Japan enjoy today". 🎌
