Gonna be honest I’m super happy for the Liberty but the clear bias from pre-show to color commentating, the commissioner wearing a New York skyline print…it reeks. It’s corny. It actually diminishes the gravity of the moment.
@ianni_ch Really appreciated this breakdown, especially the Turner call outs. And fully agree, hope there’s an org that values her grace as a human and play as a defender next season, so we can see her back on the court
@YeahItsAhNo@BA_turtle_BS Don’t have a dog in this race, but you could go back to the NCAA tournament… Sweet 16 I think? White called the game for TV; you’ll get 40 min of her CC analysis to sift through; was building defensive schemes live
@thefrankiedlc @AceFacesW As a Sky fan, I was so excited that such a large audience got to see what an absolute DELIGHT she is. As @snapwilson said, hope she gets all the backers after this.
Rewatched the last Lynx / Sun game and noticed that when Marina got hurt, Alanna and (I think?) Courtney were the players around her seeing if she was ok. These former Sky players clearly went through hell together and are bonded for life
“…no matter how they gate-keep their little growing kingdoms … what they cannot stop is our knowing. How we know each other. How we remember. How we remain connected. How we believe in you, T-Spoon, as someone continuing to build the very world we are lucky to stand inside of.”
my letter to t-spoon is all about love, betrayal & how critical it is for the wnba to keep its soul right now ❤️🔥
in chicago, we’re grateful to have witnessed one of your basketball lives, @Finisher_11. you have so many more left. cc: @SouthSideWeekly

Don’t know the details of TSpoon’s firing. But we know from our research that Black women are most likely to be fired and least likely to be rehired in The W. If interested, @WNBA we are happy to talk more about this work. #WNBATwitter
Lots of questions re: the Sky's firing of Teresa Weatherspoon. Zooming out, our research (@NefWalker@wagesofwins) looked at trends in WNBA head coach firings over 25 years. Controlling for on-court performance, Black women were nearly 3.5 times as likely to be fired as white men
@HC_Richardson@joshtpm Prof Richardson: did you catch Jonathan Swan’s interview on the Daily? Based on that, I think it was “weird” to folks he knows will already not vote for him; but speaks directly to the voters “in play” - highly online men under 50. Its performance for them; not campaign meltdown
