Ron DeSantis talks about his plan to eliminate property taxes on the Middle Class in Florida with the “Save Our Homes from Excessive Property Taxes” bill

Here’s how it would work

He plans to primary home property taxes exemptions to $250,000 starting 2027–2028

Then the long term goal is to raise it further to $500,000 or full elimination for primary properties taxes

This is a much bigger deal than people realize, this would be the impact:

- At $250,000 exemption: Eliminates property taxes for 60% of Florida homeowners
- At $500,000 roughly 92% of homeowners from mostly middle-class and working families would be impacted

As a proud mother of one wonderful son and two remarkable daughters, I am in awe of their strength and amazing spirits every day. They are my greatest joy, my biggest inspiration, and the reason my heart feels so full.” As a strong woman, I recognize the difference between strength and sameness — and I’ve lived it at every level. I was part of a team in corrections team for 23 years. I was the boss for many years. I ran shifts, made the calls, held people accountable, and managed teams through chaos, violence, and high-stakes decisions. I didn’t get there by pretending men and women are identical. I got there by understanding the differences and using them. The men on my teams carried the heavier physical load during cell extractions, restraints, fights, and emergencies (not that me and my girls were not in the mix) Their average upper-body strength, explosive power, and willingness to close distance into danger often ended threats that verbal commands couldn’t. That wasn’t “toxic masculinity” — it was operational reality that kept staff and inmates safer. I brought my strengths: reading situations quickly, verbal de-escalation, multitasking under pressure, long-term planning, and holding the team together emotionally and procedurally. Those are real advantages too. Together we were far more effective than any “sameness” experiment could have been. Just my 23 years of law enforcement and my almost 53 years on this planet. ❤️
