@ZacBissonnette Sinatra sang novelty songs for Mitch Miller/Columbia and fought him over it. When he went to Capitol he devoted himself to the American Songbook (with an occasional novelty song). Album after album anchored by the greats. The Sinatra/Cuomo catalogues do not compare.

I love this detail in the @nytimes obit of John McCain's mother, Roberta McCain, who died today at 108. I'm guessing she was in her 70s or 80s when this happened:
"Once, when she was denied a rental car in Paris because of her age, she went out and bought a car."

@franksinatra “You Go To My Head” and “Mam’selle” really stand out for me on the album. The title track was always a bit of an outlier but definitely a classic. Riddle really wrote some lovely countermelodies in the arrangements.
