Growing up, we just knew dad was a Muslim and mum a Christian. Sometimes, they would argue about it, but we really didn't know if they were quarreling or just dissing each other while throwing subtle jabs. Dad later went Mecca and became an Alhaji while mummy grew stronger in Christianity to become a church minister.
There was one evening mummy went to Pastor Obadare's crusade and came back very late.
Dad had already arrived and was served his food by my older cousin, who lived with us.
He went outside to lock the gate despite we telling him mummy was yet to come back from church. He didn't say anything but locked the gate and kept the key.
When mummy got back, we went to tell him, but he didn't bulge. He kept the key with him.
We all went outside to tell mummy that daddy refused to give us the key.
Next thing, mummy climbed the fence and jumped into the compound. She went through the backyard and entered the house, going straight to her room (they had separate rooms). We all disappeared into our rooms.
Daddy later went outside and didn't find anyone. He went to open her door and found her inside the room. Then we all heard him exclaim, "Awusubillahi mini shetani rajim! My wife has become a hooligan. You jumped the fence? Is this what they taught you in the church? La illa il allahu."
Then mummy replied, "ka fo fence kii se ese." (Jumping one's fence is not a sin)
We thought they would argue and quarrel, but we just heard the door close and they both started laughing hysterically.
We all woke up next morning, and it was like nothing happened.
Such was my hybrid family.

But then, who can blame the Ibo representative? That has been the standard practice of all Ibo ever voted into office in Yorubaland. They always stand against the interests of the Yoruba at the federal level.

In fairness, we cannot really blame him for not aligning with other representatives from Yorubaland on a very important bill like this in the interest of the Yoruba people who owns the slot he is occupying at the center.

The late Nollywood veteran, Mr Ibu, publicly endorsed Peter Obi in the run-up to the 2023 presidential election. Despite knowing Obi never built a specialist hospital as governor capable of treating the medical condition that ultimately took his life, Mr Ibu remained steadfast in his support for Obi. He joined Nollywood actors from the South East to raise funds for Obi’s campaign.

In 2024, Mr Ibu, who had publicly supported Peter Obi, suffered cardiopulmonary failure that could not be treated in any hospital in Anambra and, indeed, the entire South East. The late veteran actor was transported to Lagos to receive medical care at Evercare Hospital, a privately owned facility established at the behest of the Lagos Government’s Medical Tourism Master Plan. This hospital provided care that Obi had never offered to his fellow kinsmen who overwhelmingly voted for him.

Should any sensible human being mock the late Mr. Ibu for his right to make his own political choices?

Today, nearly half of a village in Enugu is dying of chronic kidney diseases. Ironically, Peter Obi visited the helpless patients after publicly intercepting law enforcement response in defence of fake drug merchants responsible for many of this endemic nephropathy. Most of these kidney patients voted for Peter Obi oo. Will it also be fair for anyone to mock their renal condition on the basis of their political support for a man who never built a single specialist hospital to manage their renal failure?

Alhaji Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo), one of Nollywood’s finest veterans, is the latest victim of this sustained pattern of mocking sick citizens for political gain by a mob group actively controlled by Peter Obi.

When Obidients openly mock people at their most vulnerable moments because they exercised their constitutional rights to publicly profess their political beliefs, what usually follows is hypocritical silence from those who will later come to act as moralists when the other side reciprocates the favour.

I'm not particularly in support of any candidate or party and being neutral makes me able to analyze and understand the rot in Ọṣun state.

If Adeleke wins, Tinubu should make sure to arrest and prosecute Oyetola The former Governor and Arẹgbẹṣọla the past governors of Ọṣun who spent their time looting the treasury of the state rather than working for the people and building infrastructures.

Ọṣun has never had anything good politically which is why Lagere flyover in Ile Ifẹ made by Adeleke feels like heaven to them. The previous governors must not be allowed to go free. They should spend the rest of their rubbish lives in prison in the state.

When you have the opportunity and don't do anything, it will come back to hunt you like it did Peter Obi who has nothing to show for his 8 years in Anambra and now a hard sell for presidential candidate.
