Put together a 3 bit flash ADC while waiting on some other tasks to finish. I had meant to do this last week but I didn’t have time. I did learn some new things here, as usual.
Devlog entry for the last week. libakgl maps can specify physics, new error in libakerror, and lots and lots of lessons learned in my ESP32 projects.

Putting together almost everything I’ve learned about arduino and esp32 over the past few weeks to make a joystick blinks lights demo with calibration. Challenging but very fun.
@TrisH0x2A Doing this well is nontrivial. Here is my take on the problem

And an article explaining my approach to the problem and the tradeoffs

@0xglitchbyte I used to (lovingly) call my favorite team of DevSecOps engineers "Pipe Fitters". I was glad that most of them had real engineering muscle, but like you said, the grand majority of the job is figuring out how to fit odd components together around odd obstructions under pressure.
Love it when the manufacturers tutorials have bugs in them. Still better than diagnosing istio problems in kubernetes. One project down, thousands more to go.
Now that the 2026 firefighter recruit academy here in Marion County Georgia is ramping up, I haven’t had a lot of time to follow the news, so this one is pretty light. Here are my thoughts on the news this week - they’re worth what you paid for it.

Musings on an unspoken divide within the software community as it relates to computer programming and AI. There are two types of programmers: those who take joy in the act of programming, and those who do not.

Craftsmen travel with a box full of tools that have proven themselves time and time again. Here's cmdarg, a bash argument parsing library I wrote 15 years ago that still continues to be the best at what it does - for me at least.

Here's my take on the (mostly technology) news this week. A grumpy tour of tech news: rent denial, AI hype, corporate theater, enshittification, and why UNIX still wins. It's worth what you paid for it.
