H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Kingdom of Morocco attended the AFROSAI–JURISAI Strategic Support Exchange Meeting at the AFROSAI Headquarters in Rabat on Friday 17th July 2026.

I had the pleasure of receiving a delegation from the Kenya Tourism Rebranding and Repositioning Taskforce, currently in Morocco on a benchmarking mission. Morocco’s remarkable achievement of welcoming over 20 million visitors offers valuable lessons for Africa’s tourism sector.
A day of pride, unity, and celebration. 🇰🇪
63 years ago, Kenya took its first great stride toward freedom. On 1 June 1963, the Kiswahili word ‘Madaraka’ became more than a word, it became a promise that Kenyans would shape their own destiny, govern themselves, and build a nation founded on dignity, responsibility, and self-determination.
The Embassy of Kenya in Rabat, led by Ambassador Gakinya, was honoured to host members of the Kenyan diaspora at the Chancery to celebrate this historic milestone. As we reflect on the sacrifices and vision of our founding fathers and mothers, we also celebrate the resilience, achievements, and aspirations of Kenyans at home and abroad who continue to carry the spirit of Madaraka forward.
As this season coincides with Eid ul-Adha, we extend our warm wishes to all those celebrating, and pray that the values of sacrifice, generosity, and solidarity continue to strengthen our communities.
As we commemorate this year's Madaraka Day, may we draw renewed inspiration from the courage of those who came before us and recommit ourselves to building a more united, prosperous, and inclusive Kenya for generations to come.
Happy 63rd Madaraka Day! 🇰🇪
From champion to champion, generation to generation, Kenya continues to define greatness on the global stage.
