It is hard to imagine how you could bungle the process unless you built a team to specifically underwhelm. The phone calls don’t get returned timely, the text app doesn’t spur consistent responses, the call center fields the calls (a call center for local dealerships) and bounces you back into voicemail. Seems like the on-hold recording should be, “Mercedes builds a decent car, but they didn’t build our service so expect mediocrity and you won’t be underwhelmed. We may get back to you today or we may go dark. You are not our top priority. We are dedicated to making you realize that you aren’t special and instill a sense of humility to make you a stronger person. Wait long enough and we will reach you patience and, perhaps, meditation.
