@JimSharpe@KurtSchlichter I used to read it deployed. Circa 2007, in the middle of two wars, about a page daily was devoted to writing on LGBT issues. Often, days would pass without even a word on Afghanistan. If it entirely disappeared, nothing would be lost.
@mikenelson586 I see you went from 2010-2011. I can tell you that a lot of stuff changed in the interim. I did not go to NPS. I went to another offering, and it was omnipresent, including what I'd describe as a racial grievance session, class wide.
@Comptroller252@WilliamThibeau@USArmy There are consequences to unqualified officers and their poorly led PLTs and executed staff tasks. Avoiding it is ideal.
@Comptroller252@WilliamThibeau@USArmy There is a dud percentage (excluding misconduct). I'm not HRC, so anecdotal - they fail mostly due to their intelligence. USMA, for all its good and bad, is a great school with heavy screening. An AOC (presume you were a FA) is irrelevant. Not entry level.
@Comptroller252@WilliamThibeau@USArmy If you're unwilling to accept we need to reduce the percentage of unqualified commissionees, I don't know what to tell you. Being a SGT with a CIB is not enough nor even related. A rifle CO comes back from deployment with about 30. Probably only 15 should be SSGs, let alone LTs.
@Comptroller252@WilliamThibeau@USArmy Demonstration of competence and willingness to follow through. Compliance with standards. You seem passionate about this and have a fondness for prior services commissionees. Great, but you are vastly underestimating how detrimental it is to commission the wrong people.
@MojoFilterz@AaronParnas@SecWar Why do so many people immediately go to some version of treason charges? As though that's an appropriate, or even possible outcome.
People complain. People with no experience give it audience. Oh well.
@Comptroller252@WilliamThibeau@USArmy This memo affects all OCS attendees and all ROTC attendees. I don't think you understand the contracting process it references in para 4. Either way, this is not a high bar, and I haven't seen this discrimination you reference against prior service officers.
@Comptroller252@WilliamThibeau@USArmy How does this only effect the prior service population? It's about the entire contracted cohort. Only paragraph 3 exclusively involves enlisted Soldiers. Paragraph 4 provides options for the whole cohort. As far as who was lacking- endless dudes who got a Qualified OER.
@Comptroller252@WilliamThibeau@USArmy I didn't say anyone was stupid. As far as an infantry combat veteran junior NCO, that's a great enhancer, but getting a job you lack the capacity for will end poorly for you and the organization.
Also - "office" is in the name. It's a generalist pursuit.
@Comptroller252@WilliamThibeau@USArmy There are not many average prior service officers. They tend to be excellent or awful. If you can't get a 1000 on the SAT, you're going to be awful. You won't perform duties as expected and will be a boat anchor on the officers around
@_Deadplate@Gruntpa That's incorrect. Static line jumpers (US, at least) do not cut away or release a main parachute. If you pull the reserve, you just have two parachutes.
Also untwisting - it doesn't matter what direction the twist is, the procedure doesn't change.
