“Consider the pain and suffering in the world. Consider how it’s caused, the historical roots of it all and the modern applications. Consider what steps we might take to end as much of it as we can.”
An important critique when “love thy neighbor” gets left behind #HappyPride
Several Giants players wrote Bible verses on their caps to respond to Pride Night.
The gesture echoed a familiar pattern: making a night meant for inclusion about something else entirely.

@ILoveNCAAGym I did my aerial this way because I could not figure out how to land this skill straight without falling and we figured out it wasn’t a deduction to land like this. So not so much a team-specific thing. Sometimes, your body just can’t land the way it’s “supposed” to
Brand suffers in the long run because there’s no consistency. Read a trade mag or at least a headline before you start calling people incompetent or bad at their jobs…especially a black woman. You heard the stat in here!! (2/2) #RHOBH
💯 a good marketing strategy actually takes a long time to work but most places (ESP CPG! Which she has worked in!!) aren’t willing to wait. So stock tanks, cmo gets blamed then replaced, new one comes in with a new vision, the cycle restarts (1/2) #RHOBH
“I think athletes -- and most women, in general -- we don't do things at less than 100 percent.”
You said it, girlfriend. A beautiful example of closing a chapter on your own terms and exploring what else is our there ❤️
ESPN is defending its NCAA gymnastics coverage after public criticism from Minnesota.
The Golden Gophers blasted the network on social media for not showing enough of the team’s routines compared to others. ESPN told FOS that the coverage was aimed at catering to casual fans.
A side stream isn’t a benefit if you have to pay for a $30 subscription to see it. Kind of elitist to say it if you ask me. “Double Dual” exists for a reason. And if there are complaints about visibility, maybe ABC / ESPN should fix the layout. Lotta useless white space
Thanks for your support. We competed in 16 meets this year. In only one of them (Saturday), our fans weren’t able to see every routine.
Since they weren’t on the broadcast, our social team wasn’t able to clip them and put them on social either.
Our friends and families are hosting watching parties at their homes or restaurants. They want to watch the main broadcast and not sit with their side tablet on a separate stream they had to pay for.
This is so easily fixable. We were in third place after the Four on the Floor third rotation. Just like we were in third place in the regional semis, regional finals and national semifinals before coming back to get second.
Good thing those broadcasts didn’t give up on us, would’ve missed one heck of a show.
I’m super over the analysis of the scores needed in the Baton Rouge regional. Tell us what they’re doing to get those scores. We didn’t sign up for a math lesson
Corvallis is NBC level bad right now. Why am I watching replays of vaults during Ashley Sullivan’s routine? Why am I watching celebrations while Tiana is on floor?! Be so for real espn. None of the others have had this problem!!
Nikki Hiltz, a transgender & non-binary Olympian, speaks out against the event’s new anti-trans policy:
“I don't know who needs to hear this but ZERO trans women competed in the Paris Olympics. Only ONE trans woman weightlifter competed in Tokyo 2021 and she did not win a medal. Can we please stop obsessing over trans people? And idk maybe focus our time, energy, and resources into real problems women's sports face?”
From @TheAthletic: For 40 years, Duke has been college basketball’s most polarizing team. People love to hate Duke.
But has Duke basketball become less hateable? Perhaps, maybe, even likable? https://t.co/Z2jcL2ANjA
This. More judging oversight is needed. We don’t need to eliminate chances for athletes to compete. There’s plenty of drama in 5 up 6 count. Meets are 2 hours or less. Exhibition routines add such little time. Greg’s take has SUCH top 10 bias. If he’s bored, that’s a him problem
Another point to a 5-up-5 count argument is that apparently 6 up makes meets too slow? 6 up 5 count is still faster than most football games and there’s always something happening. It’s only slower if judges can’t properly judge and need multiple conferences
Changes took a long time as due diligence was conducted. But changes were made, accountability was taken, the program is thriving. These ISU athletes deserved that. They deserve a better reflection of their legacy and maturity than this BS (5/5) #SupportISUgym
Mad respect to the Iowa State gymnasts. I’m so impressed by the maturity of this statement and the approach these gymnasts took. Perhaps lost to the general pop is how difficult this is to do in a sport where athletes are raised in a culture of fear. (1/5)
I am forever grateful that we had an engaged AD in all of our programs. Our program underperformed my senior year. Instead of canceling us, admin showed up. Admin cheered us on. Admin listened. I am also grateful that issues brought to admin about staff were not dismissed (4/5)
