Associate Director of Development, Cotie Bailey recently joined our Gulf Coast TNC team on an oyster restoration research project. As Cotie explains fishing in a recently deployed oyster reef is one of the ways TNC checks on the health of the reef.

The next ALMS Oyster Community of Practice (CoP) will now take place on Thursday, August 24th from 10:30-12:30 at the Bayou La Batre Senior Center. A hybrid Zoom option will also be available. Light refreshments will be provided.
This meeting is completely separate from the annual ADCNR Marine Resources Division oyster harvest meeting taking place on the same day at 1:00-3:00, also at the Senior Center. The CoP meeting WILL NOT provide any information on the upcoming harvest season...
