If we don’t forgive, we can’t make it to Heaven. Jesus was clear about that. Forgiveness doesn’t mean the evil never happened, it just means we’re not letting it poison our hearts forever. The people who did these things are long gone, and honestly, even some blacks owned slaves too. It wasn’t just one race guilty of this, it was the sin of humanity. Satan was behind it, using greed and cruelty to turn people against each other.

We remember, not so we stay bitter, but so we honor those who suffered and make sure it never happens again. We forgive because Christ forgave us, and we move forward knowing this was never just a people problem, it’s always been the devil’s work. If we keep this in our hearts, we will remain captives, just of a different kind.

“I was driving home and saw a Marine Corps flag flying in front of a house in Arlington, TX. I drove home as that house was just around the corner from me. This may sound crazy, but that's me. I went on to knock on the door and said I'm a Marine. I can see this old man sitting on his favorite chair, hear what I say, and see him trying to get out of that chair.
