NEW: Little Rock officer shoots 1-year-old Labrador puppy after it charges him; intoxicated homeowner goes to jail

On July 19, 2026, Officer Brandon Foster-Todd responded to a disturbance call on Country Club Boulevard in Little Rock’s Heights neighborhood.

Homeowner Thomas Schmidt walked out with his unleashed 1-year-old black Labrador. Schmidt said “He’s fine” twice as the dog ran toward the officer barking.

Bodycam shows Foster-Todd backing into the street and warning Schmidt to call the dog back. When it kept coming, the officer fired once, killing the puppy.

Schmidt, visibly intoxicated and uncooperative, cursed at the officer, threatened to assault him, and claimed he would call high-level officials.

He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, attempt to influence a public servant, and second-degree terroristic threatening.

Loses his dog and goes to jail. 🤦🏻
