"it would be a disgrace to not follow up on this character, because if we don’t then all the show has done is leave a gay man lost, heartbroken, and alone with seemingly no plans to resolve it" YES! THIS! #911onABC
Tommy Kinard may have been a divisive character on 9-1-1, but his departure leaves his story feeling unfinished.

As a bisexual male, I have a right to be upset that my sexuality is being portrayed so horribly. Bisexuals don’t need to sleep around, bisexuals don’t say “which side of the pool I jump in” If you’re a bisexual and ok with this, good for you. But you don’t speak for me
When in the WHOLE, CANON history of this show has Buck EVER mentioned getting engaged or married to ANYONE, including a partner?! Like, seriously, HOW can they NOT be ENDGAME?! My heart can’t take it! 😭 If I’ve somehow missed or forgotten a crucial moment, PLEASE, for the love of all things precious, remind me where he’s talked about it!

knowing what so many older gay men in this country have gone through, i think the part that upsets me most is that we last saw tommy devastated and alone. it just feels really dark sided to me to end the story of his character like that. and worst of all, the writers knew better
I’ve cycled around to hating myself for caring and thinking a show could tell a HEA queer story on a major network. #tevan#bucktommy and @LouFerrignoJr were magic when we had them but we’ve seen what happened to #tarlos and #henren. Why did I think this was different?
@LouFerrignoJr@The911onABC Your acting was phenomenal but the loss of another queer story, when we know there are those who will try to squash us, is not so enjoyable. You deserved better. 💛 thank you for bringing Tommy to us and showing stories a lot of us have been through
Time for me to take a break from 9-1-1.
There was always the risk that Buck and Tommy would break up.
That's not the main problem.
The problem is how they broke up. The problem is how Lou was treated. The problem is the f*cking hamster wheel. The problem is the biphobia!
😑
That episode of #911onABC was triggering af. Taking a step back from the show, with great love toward @LouFerrignoJr for all he brought us as Tommy. But just need a break.
it really is exhausting being a gay man in this fandom and witnessing women turn to homophobia just because they’re not getting the mlm ship they want. like the irony in that is just… wow!
especially since this show has been exploring queer stories form day one.
You know why queer adults actually care so much about the well-being and safety of queer and trans kids? Because we were kids once ourselves, and we know how hard it can be and have lost friends who didn’t survive long enough to be here in adulthood with us.
