Anne Andrews, Ph.D. Research Group at the University of California, Los Angeles. Developing and using tools to study serotonin in mood and anxiety disorders!

So excited about the future of wearable and personalized monitoring and the roles our breakthrough sensors will play! Know your own biochemistry--
To background subtract or not to background subtract is no longer the question. Let the machines learn! The advantages of this AI-guided strategy to voltammetry are in our paper published today in Analytical Chemistry--heavy lifting by @brovasaggi! https://t.co/dtdsWK3OD1
Call Me Serotonin! Click the link below for a quick read on the history of my favorite molecule and importantly, what we know and don't know about serotonin in depression and anxiety. Congratulations Cameron! It's your week! @uclachem

The very best and most rewarding part of my professional life and the future of science--for you and me! Congratulations @Brovassaghi on your scholarly and pithy doctoral defense seminar ("salty banana"!) @Noellem8 --you're next! @uclachem

The lecture by American neuroscientist Anne Andrews was one of the highlights of this year's Brain Awareness Week at the #CzechAcademy.
Prof. Andrews focuses on the neurochemical aspect of the brain. She and her team, studying the connection between serotonin and stress or depression, have developed a special sensor that measures individual neurotransmitters – see the study here: https://t.co/1jIwC8z02k
1/3 New serotonin (5-HT) GRAB sensors! We developed largely-improved green and all-new red genetically encoded fluorescent 5-HT sensors for dual-color imaging in vivo. Using these new 5-HT sensors, we are able to simultaneously monitor 5-HT and other neurochemicals.
Congratulations to @chuanzhenzhao for a coveted #NIH F32 postdoctoral training award for his work @Stanford on stretchable and flexible electronics for biosensing with @zhenanbao
Congratulations to Andrews' group member @Brovassaghi for receiving a coveted #UCLA Dissertation Year Fellowship. Selfishly, I'm already 😭 thinking about the fact that Cameron, who brilliantly spearheaded machine learning for electrochemistry, will be finishing in a year.
Congratulations @AptaWineClub for being named the Dennis Murphy Memorial Travel Awardee at the International Society for Serotonin Research meeting in Cancun. I'm so happy to see you beaming!
Live from #ACNP2022@NIMHDirector says raising salaries for NIH funded graduate students and postdocs means fewer folks will be funded as there will not be more money from #NIH
