There is still time to register and submit an abstract to the 29th Enzyme Mechanisms Conference. The venue has extended the deadline for room reservations (at negotiated rate). It is shaping up to be a great event.

Excited to announce that the 14th International Acinetobacter conference (and first in North America!) will take place in Niagara Falls on July 6-10 2025 in collaboration with @FASEBorg. More info to follow. #FasebAcinetobacter
This is a truly wild article. About 5% of cyanobacteria fished from the ocean are connected via nanotubes. These nanotubes are made from lipid membranes.
Also, E. coli will sometimes grab onto microbes of *other* species, using these nanotubes, and share nutrients.
Happy to share our latest collaborative study with the Wencewicz lab.
Congrats to Fardin Ahmed (and everyone involved) for this work!

I often share beautiful examples of science writing with my students. This one from @ElizKolbert in the @NewYorker is one of the best I've seen recently.
