@HopeShiloh2 I think there are a lot more neurodiverse people out there than is commonly realised. Girls and women are still underdiagnosed, as are many over 30’s. If anyone can’t accept you as you are, they probably won’t make you happy and it’s no loss!
@eiecampaign Meanwhile, the 2 contenders for the top job are an out of touch billionaire, & someone whose brilliant strategic thinking has clearly taken its cues from the charge of the light brigade. The future looks dark, mostly because the populace can no longer afford to turn the lights on
@eiecampaign Champers (& cake & cheese) are being quaffed in the corridors of power by out of touch Tories, and their fatcat lobbyists, desperately invested in maintaining the status quo, as the SS Great Britain sinks beneath waves of poverty for the masses. Enough is most definitely enough.
@sequi_simon Being a multi-millionaire probably buys a lot of control over media. The problem with most politicians at the top of the tree is their total divorce from the realities faced by those they seek to govern.
This is what the inhumane Tory "hostile environment" is doing to this poor family. It is high time we stop this nonsense, and adopt a common sense approach to such situations. My heart goes out to this family, let's hope their plight is soon resolved.
Updated Attendance Guidance encourages prosecution and fines of families facing barriers to attendance. Undiagnosed children with SEND are particularly at risk. Please don't criminalise our families. - Sign the Petition! https://t.co/1ncf6ihNDZ via @UKChange
@JustinWelby What, exactly is wrong with economic migrants if they wish to work? Give them a safe, legal and affordable route and they will no longer need to pay organised criminals to smuggle them in. Give them the chance to work, and create a better life through their own efforts.
@neiljmcevoy This is a fair assessment of the situation. But it’s exacerbated by political apathy and disengagement on the part of the electorate, as well as a system that works better for larger, established parties .
@TILLY194 @LauraPidcock Boris Johnson doing what he wanted… just imagine!! She may in theory have power, but convention and custom dictate that that power is never exercised.
I just feel like there is a real grossness to the state driven Jubilee celebration fanfare. People are skint, getting so much more skint & full of worry & we are supposed to go out & celebrate 70 years of unadulterated, unaccountable wealth, privilege, power & exploitation? Nah.
The economy is on a knife edge. Fuel bills are rising. But here is one little potato that is clearly glad that we now have to think twice before splurging on the gas necessary to boil them.
@veryfathomer But poverty is often caused by a sudden change in circumstances. Tattoos may not be recent. Jewellery may be costume, with no value, possibly owned for years. And a phone is pretty essential to get online and search for work. Price hikes plus stagnant, inadequate income = poverty
@IsabelOakeshott It IS possible - but not for everyone. Yellow label reduced items are great. But to get them, you have to be in the right place at the right time. Not always possible. Also, there’s the cost of the energy to cook the food. The poor need a lot more help than they currently get.
Just listing to @kitmalthouse on R4 and my blood is boiling. He says we all have to make “hard decisions” (heat vs eat. cut back.) I can think of one very easy decision EVERYONE can make: NEVER vote Conservative again!!!!!
@neiljmcevoy I’m all in favour of education, but some subjects are surely better addressed in small, single sex groups. Or at least give the pupils the choice?
