17 YEAR OLD GIRL PREGNANTED BY BIOLOGICAL FATHER IN CHOMA

A 17 year old girl of Mwapona compound in Choma District of Southern Province has been impregnated by her biological father, a 43-year-old traditional healer residing in Bailoni compound near Kamunza compound in Choma and the victim has since delivered a baby boy.

According to police, the incident occurred between 2023 and 2024 on an unknown dates and time in Chongwe, Lusaka.

Police says in 2023, the victim, who was living with her mother in Mwapona compound following her parents' divorce, was requested by her father to accompany him to Chongwe and while there, the father began sexually abusing her, which eventually resulted in her pregnancy.

Southern Province police commissioner Auxensio Daka says the matter came to light on March 31, 2025, after the victim had delivered a baby boy on March 16, 2025 and the mother demanded to know the identity of the baby's father and the victim revealed that it was her biological father.

In a similar incident, a 14 year old girl of
Shambala area, Chief Shezongo, Itezhi-tezhi has been defiled by her 88-year-old grandfather of the same area.

According to police, the matter are that on March 31, 2025, at around 11:00 hours, the victim was left home to go and fetch water and on her way, she met her grandfather, who proposed love to her and promised to give her K50.

Police further added that when the victim refused, he claimed that, as her grandfather, she was naturally his wife and then dragged her to a nearby bush and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her and threatened not to disclose the incident to anyone.

Police have not made arrests and investigations are underway.
