The former condos-turned-apartments at 2730 Hampton Parkway has received dozens of citations for violating Evanston's Inclusionary Housing Ordinance.
Its owners say they're in compliance, however the city is disputing this.

Pritzker's BUILD plan will have to wait at least a few more months, with lawmakers stalling on Sunday to pass the sprawling housing plan

We reported yesterday that Gov. JB Pritzker’s BUILD housing plan is unlikely to move. A big reason? Labor is against it. They have some issues with the middle housing bill, but the big “non-starter” is statewide inspection timelines and third party review. https://t.co/9e0AtpRC2k
But… a source close to negotiations told us that a new bill will be filed in the morning. It would feature a similar incentive offering the Bears “tax certainty” and include funding for infrastructure surrounding a stadium development. Big day coming up in Springfield.
With less than two days left in the spring legislative session, the clock is ticking on some housing bills.
However with the focus being on the state budget and Bears “megaprojects” bill, it’s likely lawmakers may punt on housing until the veto session.

From @mattheweadie22: The Evanston City Council tabled a final vote last night on a proposed 30-unit apartment building on Emerson. The project has faced pushback from a nearby landlord and neighbors, and concerns about how it could impact a historic Black church.
@jstewartIndy@BeechGrovePD@ryanmearsindy This happened in Michigan City last August, where they stole 25 catalytic converters😬forced classes to be remote for a few days.
Sign taped at Evanston’s Guzman y Gomez location this morning saying it has “cease trading”. The Australian-based chain announced overnight it was immediately closing its U.S. restaurants, all of which are in the Chicagoland area.
