Warm & substantial meetings in London this week. HM The Sultan of 🇧🇳 and 🇬🇧 PM Starmer renewed the Garrison Agreement, underpinning British Forces Brunei. Meaningful talks on security, trade, nature & bilateral issues + genuine connections as we mark 40 years of dip relations.

Our High Commissioner & Head of Political met with 🇧🇳Attorney General, Datin Hjh Nor Hashimah, for an introductory courtesy call. They reflected on the strength of the legal relationship and explored areas for further cooperation 🇬🇧🤝🇧🇳

Fantastic news that Brunei and Australia have ratified UK CPTPP membership.

CPTPP will boost our already close partnerships with both countries and marks the UK’s first formal trade agreement with Brunei, as with Malaysia which ratified UK membership in September.

Excited to join 🐵 Guarding 🇧🇳 on a 🐵 walk as part of my journey towards becoming a 🐵 guard. We observed & learned about macaques, to support our mission of helping humans and 🙉 live in harmony. Huge admiration for the team, whose dedication helps protect 🇧🇳biodiversity.

The 🇬🇧🇧🇳Judicial cooperation is one of our strongest areas of collaboration so it was really good to meet with Bruneian Chief Justice, Dato Steven who has just returned from the UK where he attended UK’s Opening of the Legal Year. We discussed the importance of the Rule of Law.
