A quick video update related to the recent #PacitoVsTrump injunction thread I’m reposting below.
This will NOT have an immediate impact but it SHOULD mean that reception and placement services (resettlement agency) are funded and staffed again.
Stay tuned!

This is how refugees support communities—the video is a repost from TikTok. At some point, everyone was a refugee. Save Afghan allies stranded in Pakistan. Promises must be kept. God bless you all
@SecDef The war is over, troops are home, and the mission by force has ended—but what about the brothers in arms stranded in Pakistan, now facing the threat of returning to Taliban rule? Promises made to protect Afghan allies must be kept.
Dear @SecRubio We appreciate ur commitment to Uyghurs, but our Afghan allies who risked their lives for the U.S. r still stranded in Paki. They face travel bans with no exemptions for SIV applicants & the threat of being returned to the Taliban. We must honor our promise to them.
Urged the @realDonaldTrump Administration to exempt from the imminent US visa ban forcibly displaced people under US laws & treaty obligations, including Afghan SIV & P1-4 applicants. Specifically called on National Security Advisor @MikeWaltz47, who fought alongside this vulnerable Afghan group, to stand up for those who sacrificed in defense of shared US-Afghan values—democracy, freedom, and human rights—against terrorists, extremists, and drug traffickers now threatening the US.
We urge the @POTUS Administration to exempt Afghan SIV holders from new travel restrictions. Banning SIV recipients doesn’t enhance national security, it undermines it. These allies and their families deserve protection.

No One Left Behind’s statement in response to the initial reports of the proposed travel ban.
Please note that tonight’s reporting addresses a draft country list. As of March 14, admissions eligibility has not changed for the countries named.
Americans who care about our #Afghan allies, please contact your state senators & representatives to urge them to push for an exemption to the upcoming travel ban that will affect those who have been waiting for U.S. P1, P2, SIV & Welcome Corps case processing.

@SecRubio@StateDept Dear Mr. Rubio, as wartime allies in the longest U.S. war, we appreciate your concern for Uyghur refugees in Thailand. But what about Afghan allies facing forced deportation from Pakistan to the Taliban? Is their blood any different? #AfghanAllies#SaveAfghanRefugees
Paws Unite People stands firmly with our Afghan Allies & Colleagues who placed their trust in the United States and now face an uncertain future due to potential travel restrictions.
From our group, only a handful of individuals supported by our organization remain in Pakistan, waiting for their P1 and SIV applications to be processed. Others are already here in the U.S., or other countries working hard to rebuild their lives.
These individuals are not just numbers—they are families, human and animal rights advocates, and those who dedicated their lives to protecting both people and animals. Many served alongside U.S. forces, provided critical humanitarian aid, or fought for the welfare of the voiceless. Turning our backs on them now is not only a moral failure but a betrayal of the promises made.
The humanitarian impact of this crisis is far-reaching, far beyond our dear friends. People have fled life-threatening situations and are relying on us to honor our commitments. Many are still in limbo, uncertain of their future, while others who have already resettled in the U.S. continue to rebuild their lives and contribute to our communities. Their safety and well-being are not just a matter of policy—they are a moral imperative. We have lost people we care about, so many other people we have met through our work with @afghanevac members have lost people as well. This is not a political issue, it is a moral one.
Paws Unite People, having worked directly with Afghan refugees and their families, sees firsthand the strength, resilience, and dedication these individuals bring to their new lives. We are committed to continuing our support for their safety and resettlement.
We call on lawmakers, organizations, and individuals to stand with us and demand action before it’s too late. Afghans that are part of Operation Enduring Welcome should be exempt from this ban. We should never abandon those who stood beside us.
We thank all those who have supported us and the work of organizations like ours who are helping our brave Afghan Allies, and we urge you to continue advocating for the safety and dignity of these brave individuals.
Visit https://t.co/kcv9puSvLd to find your representatives. You can also send them AfghanEvac’s draft resolution from there and ask them to please stand with Afghans.
Thank you CBS! These Afghans are not strangers. Each is named by an American they helped/worked with/saved. They are THEN vetted more than any other population BEFORE they arrive.
