Understand PM and CX to meet @OBR_UK tomorrow. Encouraging. This must now be the ‘reset moment’ - to urgently bring forward the OBR forecast with credible new fiscal rules and a plan which the OBR assesses as deliverable. That will start to address market confidence.
Well done @OBR_UK. Now it’s time for @hmtreasury and @KwasiKwarteng to move the publication up to October to provide MPC with the information needed for informed policymaking.
.@OBR_UK has just confirmed to me they’ll shortly publish timetable for producing full fiscal forecast - first iteration with @KwasiKwarteng Fri 7th Oct. Now clear from my correspondence with @OBR_UK that FULL forecast can be provided by end Oct rather than waiting til 23rd Nov.
