I don’t know who needs to hear this, but…
The poorest Americans today enjoy a standard of living that the richest people on earth couldn’t buy a century ago.
Why?
Free-market capitalism is the only system in history to lift entire societies out of mass poverty.
Cute theory, let's play it out.
A monkey hoards a trillion bananas. The troop, enraged, beats him to death. They gather around the pile to feast at last.
But... oh wait, there is no pile.
It turns out the "bananas" were shares in a banana-launching company the dead monkey founded.
The shares were worth a trillion because he was alive to run it.
Now he is dead and the stock is worth $0.
The retarded monkeys have clubbed their way into a recession.
But it gets worse.
Half the "bananas" were tied up in a rocket that supplies bananas to monkeys on the far mountain who had no bananas at all.
Another chunk was tied up in a little satellite dish that beamed banana coordinates to the troop after a flood took out their trees.
So now they realized they beat to death the only monkey who knew how the dish worked.
So the monkeys sit there.
No bananas.
No rockets.
No coordinates to get more banananas.
Just a dead body and a powerful sense of fairness as they all now became infinitely poorer.
OH
And somewhere a smaller monkey watches the whole thing and quietly decides he will never build anything in front of these animals again.
Christ did not love you for your good works. They were not the cause of His beginning to love you. So, He does not
love you for your good works even now. They are not the cause of His continuing to love you. He loves you because He loves you.
Charles Spurgeon
@NathanJRobinson Is there any non ideological shitlib academic that takes you seriously? I’m sorry you got picked on in high school but you don’t need to make it your life’s work to fight back
@NathanJRobinson Why don’t you show the ways in which Elon “Hid” his wealth? If you are honest and not ideological, it would be pretty easy to admit that Elon is a benevolent billionaire and socialism is a retards game
Again for those in the back, Elon once offered to cut a check for $6 BILLION to the WFB to "eliminate World hunger" as they said the money could. His one condition was that the accounting was public.
They did not accept.
@justin_hart@EvidenceOfFaith lol yeah the bishop years thing is probably debatable.
one of the first things that made him start questioning was the church spending billions on the City Creek mall.#notacult
@justin_hart LDS is a $200B empire. You pull in billions a year and own more land than Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos combined. You built a $1.5B luxury shopping mall right across the street from your headquarters.
Is the franchise comparison off base?
It’s because she doesn’t want to waste her time but I’m not as smart so I’ll engage.
The difference is simple. Biblical Christianity points to the Cross and says, "It is finished." LDS theology points to the Temple and says, "Here is your checklist." Don't lecture about "twisting the gospel" when your version requires secret handshakes and cosmic passport phrases just to pass the angels guarding heaven. stick with the finished work of Jesus.
You are projecting. Pointing out the actual vocabulary and context of the New Testament isn't "human philosophy” it's literacy. The real twist is claiming to preach the biblical gospel while completely redefining the Savior into a created being and salvation into a system of temple rituals. You believe Joseph Smith not the Bible.
The "imperial committee" conspiracy theory is a classic deflection. Constantine didn’t write a single word of the Creed the bishops did, using the New Testament to defend the deity of Christ. It didn't change the doctrine; it clarified it against new heretics. We don't follow the councils because of Rome; we follow them because they align perfectly with the Bible. If you have to resort to secular history distortion to avoid defending your 19th-century polytheism, you’ve already lost the scriptural argument.
The thief trusted in the finished work of the true, uncreated God. Calling it "gatekeeping" when Christians defend biblical monotheism against 19th-century fabrications is odd. Paul literally tells us to fiercely guard the Gospel against anyone twisting it (Galatians 1:8). If your version of Jesus requires a checklist of human rituals to save a sinner, you're the one shutting the gate.
