@WestonFollower They just want her to shut up. It’s just the same as the faux-concern about “toxic fans” leading to people not casting her in the future. They want people to be quiet so they can pretend no one cares about her character or the racism and sexism.
"Incorrect!" they said. You're not supposed to evolve in between months. You're supposed to stay exactly the same so the dumb ones in the audience can follow the story more easily.
Incorrect! Season one managed it for all the characters. Season two managed it (poorly) for some of them. Whitaker was not one of them, because there’s nothing more interesting to do with him now. They killed the momentum, so bringing him back is cheap and lazy.
That's the whole format of the show ??? You get to see ONE shift in their life at different moments. You hate the format of the show honey, idk what to tell you.
I don't think you do because it's supposed to take several seasons for them to change lol one season is one day. Most people don't change in a day. It's how he changed (for the worst honestly) from season 1 to season 2 that is interesting.
I don’t think you know what an arc is. In what way did Whitaker end season two in a different place than he started? He didn’t. Because he’s a flat, boring character whose story ended in season one, but gets to stay because the creators are racist.
Robby has an arc, Langdon has one, Dana had one now it's not it, Javadi has the best one so far, Whitaker has one, even if I don't like it. They need to do something with McKay soon tho.
Like fuck most of them are. She is the only one pointing out how the processes are broken. And they didn’t give WHITAKER an arc. Mohan’s was weak in season two, but she still had more of one than Whitaker, and it’s absurd to suggest it makes sense for her to go.
"She's trying to improve the broken system" most of these characters are. It's been a topic since season 1, then season 2, but that's not what an arc is. They didn't give her one. They got the chance to do so in season 2, but they decided they wouldn't.
I will be forever furious at the abandonment of the Robby Mohan relationship. Even IF I didn't care about her as her own character, It was by far the most interesting of all Robby's relationships with his residents, and made Robby a far more interesting character.
the way they keep getting rid of the most interesting characters while making sure they have space for the soggy-lettuce-personality white boys....... go writers, give us nothing.........
Are you fucking kidding me? She is the one that represents trying to improve the broken system of emergency medicine! THAT is the main theme of the show. Whitaker and Langdon do not have stories tied to that.
What story arc did she have ? Whitaker's story, even if it's starting to go in circles and I think he's boring, is tied to the main theme of the show and Langdon does have a story that is tied to the main theme of the show, and it's the best one after the main character's
You know who else only had half their story and should have stayed? Samira fucking Mohan. It is a BAD choice to choose to keep Langdon and Whitaker but not Mohan.
You choose to have the guy with only half of his story stay in the show so he can finish it. Yeah good choice, make it so characters have purpose. You make a character exit the show not to have them go in circles just to say they're here, good choice. You make your story live lol
@ofmpsychiatry It’s amazing how brittle the entire gimmick of one shift with time skips in between seasons is. It was awesome for a single season. It could have even been good in an anthology. But it just doesn’t hold up with what they’ve done with it.
@DeborahMich@BillyNoHouse It was such a weird choice to say she’s worked with Al-Hashimi before after that picture. It’s like they were trying to undercut the Robby Mohan importance, but also didn’t want to commit to developing the Mohan Al-Hashimi relationship.
