That may be a sign that there's some willingness within the Kremlin to bring the nation-damaging war to an end.

UKR strikes are inflicting serious damage on RU's oil infrastructure. Public dissatisfaction is growing. And so on.

@lehtikuusi @ConciousLabRat Now, think carefully and critically, and stick to the facts. The US’ attempt to influence Ukraine is a fact. But then you make a leap of faith and assume that the US controlled and directed Ukraine. That really is a matter of faith, because there is no evidence for it.

The goal of the war is to prevent Ukraine from integrating with the West and to bring it back into Russia's sphere of influence. The invasion was aimed at turning Ukraine into a Belarus-like vassal state.

@lehtikuusi @ConciousLabRat Few Ukrainians supported NATO membership before 2014. After that, support increased significantly, and even more after 2022. NATO is not Russia's enemy. NATO is not an offensive alliance, and it certainly would not attack Russia, especially given that Russia is a nuclear power.

@lehtikuusi @ConciousLabRat In no reasonable sense was Russia provoked into invading Ukraine. At no point was Ukraine becoming a military threat to Russia, for example. However, from Putin's perspective, it was certainly unwelcome that Ukrainians wanted freedom and chose a Western path.

@lehtikuusi @ConciousLabRat In 2012, General Makarov told Finns how they should conduct their security policy. At the end of 2021, Putin issued his so-called "security guarantees," demanding that NATO stop accepting new members, including countries such as Finland. This is aggressive pressure.
